Costco sells grapes called candy snaps, they’re ridiculously good. My kids love them. They’re the sweetest grapes I’ve ever had. GMO I’m sure, but still healthier than skittles.
Costco has the best fucking grapes ever. I typically buy 2 4lb packages a week and if I’m not careful, I’ll finish over 1/2 a package before leaving the larking lot.
Your point is sound, but also if the candy makers can use beet juice to color candies sold in Europe they can do that here. Instead, they use shit derived from oil.
IMHO as a layman, non scientist and/or medical professional, worrying about the purity of the candy supply, soda pop and Fruit Loops is a distraction from the bigger picture stuff.

If you are going to make that trade — GMO v sugar — make sure you wash said fruit well enough to remove any glyphosate derivatives etc.
