Losing to Indiana that bad with their backup QB was underrated bad. As was getting blown out by Iowa. I guess spotting Indiana 14 points with ints had something to do with it.

The OL is young and inexperienced … those that are here are either cast offs from other programs or guys that haven’t shown any kind of elite ability on the field yet … I’d say there are no guaranteed locked in starters next year
You can’t say that TE is a fine position group when you only have 2 healthy and available options on the roster and 1 of them is a true freshman
Take those 2 issues and combine with a QB that lacks the horsepower to fit balls into tight spaces and there’s your red zone issues
As others have stated (so it’s more than my opinion) … there are a lot of JAGs at DT
If you go look at the games we lost that would be argued that should have been wins against Wazzu and Rutgers … a big common theme in those games was the inability to finish drives in the red zone
It’s not rocket science
And then when you layer on top special teams issues (a big byproduct of a young and not deep roster) … that’s how you get to .500
This team isn’t really that far off of where they should be … let’s say I give you one of Wazzu or Rutgers that we should have won … I could also argue that we shouldn’t have won the USC game
And as for the players that are starting or in the rotation on the rosters of the CFP teams in the Big10 … it’s far less than you’d think with only a couple players tops in positions where you could argue that they’d start

Jesus. I just think getting rolled by Indiana and Iowa the way they were has been glossed over a bit as like impossible situations that weren't. I don't think any way they should have won those games.
The Apple Cup is played up a bit too much as "should have been a win." Gross made three 40+ field goals, their kicker missed a chip shot and we stopped them on downs on their first drive deep in our territory on what might have been a broken play. Even if we score a TD on that last drive, we're kicking the ball back to them with a minute with them needing just a field goal to win after Rogers throws a fade to Boston out of bounds on the two-point try.
Rutgers was an all time how do you lose this game, game, but it's true we should have lost to USC and they just did a bunch of stuff like we have been doing this year, particularly in the red zone.
Losing to UCLA at home would be a nightmare. They lost their coach in February and up until just recently everyone was laughing at Foster for being the worst hire ever. They also aren't a typical UCLA team that is soft but has some NFL talent. They're a lot like us.
