Listen to Jeddediah’s conference from today. Made it sound like he is.
I had no idea he left
I have always and still assume he’s gone and if anything would come back and go to another school but maybe Fisch personally gives him bags or something. I assume now he’s a day 3 pick and maybe he can get more in NIL money.
He should come back. He can make a good amount of NIL money
He'd make more money next year at UW than he would as a fifth-round selection in the draft.
This is probably the only thing I like about NIL.
I don’t want dumb players on my team and Coleman would have to be beyond dumb to return.
UW doesn't pay unproven highschoolers but they PAY the proven talent. If he leaves he's going to the league imo
I’d love to have Coleman back but I’m a big believer in RBs should almost always get to the pros as soon as they can and see if they can get to a second contract or just make as much cash as they can.
I’d consider going pro for less cash regardless of positions in general for a lot of reasons.
What does a late round RB make? I don't see teams wanting to chase after him when he can't play more than a dozen snaps a game
he needs to transfer somewhere else that has a good offensive line
Fisch is a great recruiter
If he's projected as a 5th round pick his signing bonus would be under $400k and the actual contract is not guaranteed money. If he can make more at UW next year how would that be a dumb decision?
Yeah the idea that any RB needs to hurry and get his NFL time started only applies to first or maybe second round picks anymore. There is more incentive for a mid or late round guy to just stay in college.
Why does everyone and their brother think Coleman is a late-round pick? He looks late first round or early second round to me, if healthy.
Bucky Irving went in the 4th round. How does Coleman comp?
Coleman is much better in my opinion
I love me some Coleman
Running backs are a dime a dozen in the NFL unless you are truly elite. Coleman is a really good college running back, but so are dozens of others.
Bucky is actually a pretty good comp
If Coleman had any blocking at all, he'd be averaging 8.0 yards per carry
Coleman is a really good back, but the really great ones don’t rely on their OLs.
Coleman is definitely hurt by his OL, but I don’t think he’s alone in college football. There aren’t a lot of really good offensive lines out there.
Coleman isn't exceptionally big or fast. I think you have to be pretty exceptional at all aspects, including the underwear Olympics, to be an early pick as an RB. Just being really good at running the ball isn't enough. More and more oro teams think they can find their guy in the late rounds or via UDFA.
Which is why, for him, he should leave to maximize his potential.
good lord… we will have to agree to disagree on this one
Myles Gaskin wouldn't be faring any better than Coleman with this current line.
Coleman's efforts are fantastic
Is Gaskin still in the NFL? He was drafted in the seventh round
This thread took some turns. Long story short good it's good that it sounds like Coleman could be coming back. Would love him, Muhammad, and Demond's running threat behind a better OL next year.
He's bounced between cuts and practice squads and active rosters the past couple years. He's on the active roster for the Vikings right now and has put together a good career for a 7th round pick.
he was in street clothes last week vs the rams.
In short, you're crazy to go pro if you're a late round pick and you have a decent NIL offer in front of you. Bouncing on and off the active roster or practice squad is not worth it if you're a high impact college player.
I look at Coleman and see a 2nd to 4th round pick with the TBDs his durability and how he is catching balls out of the backfield.
Health problems and he doesn't have breakaway speed. No way he's a first rounder. He reminds me of Maurice Jones-Drew, but not quite as good as MJD was.
Coleman is so slow he will not go higher than the 5th. Likely UDFA. Johnson was better than Coleman IMO last year and he went undrafted because fucking cock sucker doog legend DeBoer broke his foot last year for no reason
Coleman needs to go to his brother Lavon Coleman's school of chiseling cement off of his cleats, and then gets healthy.
Get an NIL bag for this year and play for a 4th round grade next year
