Even I don't think he should have got away with it. Summary execution for drunk driving sounds too Saudi to me
A few things:
He defense wasn't that he killed a drunk driver who killed his kids out of rage in the heat of the moment. His defense was that he didn't do it and there was no evidence that he did. The jury didn't find evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that he did it. Most retards think the the jury didn't convict him because of the rage defense. I doubt he would be a free man today had he taken that route.
Even if he did do it, how did he know the driver was drunk? Is it ok to shoot anyone on the side of the road if they hurt or kill a family member in an accident?
And even if he did know the guy was drunk, he had no right to take another life under the law.
It makes for a great fantasy that we would all like to take out our own justice on those who wrong is, but reality is that would devolve pretty quickly into a chaotic society where justice takes a back seat.
But I do enjoy watching emotional, irrational, low information hay seeds comment on it. Unfortunately these people also get to vote.
My guess is OBK is saying "God damn right! Texas justice got it right! He's lucky it wasn't my kids he killed because after I killed him I would have killed the rest of his family!"

Happened near me. True or not the rumor is there was somebody else there that did the shooting, but nobody could figure out who. The fact they couldn't find the gun or any gun residual on Barajas is what got him acquitted.
