If I am the GOP candidate of the future I refuse all debates hosted by MSM. I cannot see or understand any potential reason to go into a hostile environment where all things are clearly stacked against you. What's the benefit? Nobody even watches things anymore. Take your message to X and rallies. Fuck these debates. Cannot for the life of me figure out what is good about them from the conservative pov.

I'd say you are right in theory, but the media has gone so far out on so many topics there that they just humiliating themselves now and people realize that. People watch the clips on twitter and Facebook and shit though so they do serve a purpose still.
Alternatively - for the first half of the debate, leftists get to pick the moderator.
For the second half, team patriot gets to choose.
Yeah I am essentially saying until there is a legit fair playing field there is absolutely no reason to do these. MSM will say "they are scared" and the GOP reply is "your playing field is tilted fuck off"
You gain nothing going into a hostile environment and getting fact checked to death while the opposition can lie with impunity and have cheerleaders helping them.

This was never going to be a debate. They were just trying to get Trump to lose control. He didn’t oblige them. They want another shot. Nothing in it for him.
