If you want to start engaging in common sense solutions for mass shootings, these are the types of things that shouldn't be legal. No citizen should have the ability to legally mod a weapon and shoot 600 people in minutes. It's batshit to say otherwise.
Of course it won't make a big difference on it's own, but that's not the point. Be rational. It's a very minor part of a larger comprehensive solution, ideally.
Better question is why should bump stocks be legal? I'd love to hear that argument. Why did Trump ban them?

I can bump fire without a bumpstock. They are a gimmick and a boogeyman of people that don't have any experience with shooting or guns. That includes Trump the wealthy new Yorker. Hth.
Like I said, your ignorance shows what "common sense reforms" means. People who don't own or shoot guns making up silly laws that don't make a shred of difference but make them feel "good" that they're halping.
The Only thing "common sense" reforms serve to do is make law abiding citizens criminals and further limit a check and balance on federal and military power.
Tldr bump stock bans are fucking stupid. I won't even get into the rest of the argument.

Only the Vegas shooter had a bump stock. I'm here to tell you that old guy did not shoot all those people. Bump stocks are shitty and take practice. Even then they're shitty. Find the crime scene photos. Hardly any empty bread. Videos of the shooting show very of stuff. Audio reveals far too high and consistent rates of fire that are not capable with a bump stock. Far to many animosity. Years later we know nothing. I know several people that were there. Two that were killed. A couple others wounded.
Keep your communism to yourself please.
