You've never run a bootstrapped company before. Never built a new thing using only the profits of the old thing before it becomes outdated and you're fucked, taking no outside funding. So you have zero clue what goes into these decisions at smaller companies that have weathered these downturns for years.

When people have something happen out of their control like being laid off or health issues and lose their jobs, those are the people I feel awful for.

Remember folks, this is the guy who said he’d be surprised that the company the size of Amazon used Slack. I easily researched that the vast majority of the fortune 100 use Slack probably Fortune 500. I further tested him whether he would recognize Amazons internal tools. This is not normal. Most vendors I meet randomly have a vast knowledge of what companies are using. He didn’t.

When did I claim that I worked at Amazon and had some working knowledge of what they use internally, beyond Java/Python and their CLI?
I said it would surprise me given that things we've done with Slack don't seem to scale very well and they have tons of glitchy things that have annoyed us. We actually regret being on it but the amount of time to pull off all our integrations to it is a massive time sink at this point.
You aren't an engineer at Amazon so you clearly don't understand what I'm talking about about and are just grasping for whatever you can.

One thing I do know about Amazon is they aren’t going to let people like Buck dick around on boards like this during work hours and they will find out even if it’s not on Amazon devices.
I still don’t believe he even worked there, but if he did, it doesn’t at all make me miss my days at Fortune 250 companies where there is no creativity and no flexibility in the business process. It’s like trying to redirect the Titanic for even basic efficiency improvement or ideas. Get what you can out of those work experiences and then move to consulting smaller companies.
