Because the constitution says so. Electoral college lets the states decide and not just the popular vote where the most populous states would have too much control to the detriment of the smaller states. The founders were exceedingly smart. You? Not so much.

We'd have to have consistent voting laws too. At least now, a state's decision to have lack of any internal controls has an upper limit of risk.

I misread and misspoke. I owned it. Next.
Wyoming has more weight per capita than California in the House, Senate, and electoral college. All these things are true. I'm not arguing against it, that's just how it is.
