To be fair, it's been a steep drop over the last few months. The Biden of 6-12 months ago is not the same as today. This is what happens when you're an octogenarian and your speed, mobility, and mouth fails you. It should have been expected last year that running Biden for a second term until he was 86 wasn't the best idea. It didn't happen, for reasons that will be picked apart ad nauseam. It takes time for party members/left leaning media to come to grips, especially when talking about the party's nominee and current sitting president. Of course there's gonna be some painting of roses there and bluster about unity during a campaign, especially when defending attacks on his senility from the right. Those attacks are still baseless, to this day. This isn't about Biden being senile or administrating poorly, that's all fine. This is about campaigning, speaking publicly, projecting confidence, not being old as fuck, an ability to not die in office, and beating Trump.
If you wanna get started on lies, gaslighting, and protecting/swearing fealty to a party leader, from the party and media, you really don't want to go there, believe me. There is hardly an equivalence between Trump and Biden in this arena. The GOP has had 9 years to come to grips and still hasn't. You're welcome to run with this line though.
The debate is exactly the system shock Democrats needed, if they do the logical thing. If they don't, well, I'll be rendered speechless like Biden in a debate. -
