Let's pretend the dazzler has a real MBA and is tasked with doing an after tax cash flow projection for an investment opportunity. The tax rate used will be the marginal tax rate or the effective tax rate based on this incremental investment income? Decisions are made on the margin from the wife going back to work after having a kid or looking at the cost of child care and her after tax take home pay or building a LNG export facility. And when looking at the cost of the LNG facility, you certainly don't want to factor in property taxes, sales taxes and all the permitting costs and fees which are really just more taxes.
