Odd career. He looked like a burner but Petermen's god awful offense got him the ball in actual space about three times in his career. Left early for the draft, ran a 4.6 at the combine and went undrafted then I think we all thought he was done, but he's made some cash with the Dolphins. Good for him. Spoiler: if your offense relies on a lot of slow developing play action and the play is basically dead if the defense doesn't bite on it, you're gonna have a lot of underutilized players.
Wrong thread, the most overrated recruit, player, and former player thread is somewhere else.
I remember when he scored a couple TDs in a preseason game once and every message board poster finally felt vindicated after years of blaming Petersen for his inexplicable underperformance.
Then he put up 163 carries for 593 yards (3.8 ypc) in four years on one of the most explosive offensive units in the league (Miami rushed for 5.1 ypc as a team last year.) Kinda surprising they resigned him again as a 4th/5th string guy but maybe he is great in the locker room.
Well, yeah. I still think that if Jimmy hires Helfrich and completely leaves the offense alone he is still the coach here even if his seat this year or next would be on fire.
This is good. I think he was hurt but it's so insane I laugh that Jimmy and JonDon couldn't get Otton the ball against garbage Pac-12 teams and the next year he was caching game-winning touchdowns from Tom Brady in the league.
Very successful college backs not doing shit in the nfl is a classic case yeah. See Sankey, Polk, Gaskin, probably lots of Oregon guys.
The point is that Ahmed didn’t do the opposite. He didn’t do anything in the nfl to prove he was anything other than what he was at UW.
All that being said, Gaskin at least had about 1.5 years in the NFL of decent success as a passing down back on a decent team. He got 2.5 x the number of career touches as Ahmed and I doubt that changes too much as Ahmed might have one year left in the nfl maybe.

Peterman played John Ross at corner in 2014
Came here to say this. It’s absolutely retarded that he didn’t start last year.
sounds like he’s taking all the snaps and wearing the headgear for the play calls
As well he should be. God knows Tuputala isn’t smart enough to handle that.
Salvon Ahmed?
PGOS

Eh, he played in the NFL and didn't do shit at UW. It's a classic case. Gaskin was on that same Miami team and couldn't hack it.
Mike Lustyk was hands down the most overhyped.
Cotton. He is good in the NFL and in contrast to some of the other write ins (Ahmed) he was actually good at UW
Ahmed, Gaskin, Sample, Dissly, Pettis, Hunter Bryant in 2017. Not to mention the stacked defense with Vita and Gaines.
The most shameful thing in the past 14 years in husky football to not even make the conference championship game with that roster.
Uhh, no. The most shameful was losing at home to Montana
