The real crime is the US govt attacking freedom of the press. Complete violation of the principles of 1A. Quite telling Mello’s media stays silent on that point.

It should be noted the US Sate Department did NOTHING to protect a US citizen - exercising free speech no less. When asked explicitly about the topic, stated “we are aware” then did nothing.
Lira’s case hits home more insofar he is someone who’s content I consumed long before the UKR conflict.
Not sure what US govt should be more ashamed about - for how it handled both individual’s liberty or the lies, murder, war crimes, and blatant hypocrisy they exposed.
