Your thoughts on the great Chin Crisis of 2024

This will be my final comment on the whole affair (no further questions, respect my decision):
We? (rightly or wrongly) have a rich tradition on this board for making donations to our fearless leader for stupid shit in return. I personally have throw Stalin a few bucks here and there for him to name an award in my honor, read a list of my grievances about several poasters on his podcast, and to get people to change their avatars, etc. (this is on top of my annual tribute).
@Fire_Marshall_Bill paid to change the name and Derek accepted. And as we all know, this is a benevolent dictatorship. DJ’s word is law. We can of course express our opinions, but either deal with it or make a counteroffer.
I personally think it would be a fun cash grab opportunity for the site to have a silent auction before the season starts in August to get to rename all the reaction buttons.

I'll give you part of my reasoning. We have upwards of 25 posters who have 10,000 posts, 20,000 posts, 30,000 posts, 40,000 posts and even 50,000 posts, who spend 1.25-3.0 hours a day here, 7 days a week. And they can't kick in even $25 a year, which is about $2 a month. And as the Huskies went into the postseason, I watched many of them make posts like they've never been as addicted to the site as they are now, or they discussed their vacation plans to New Orleans and Houston, and yet... They can't even kick the equivalent of $2 a month, to where they spend so much time talking Husky football and other stuff.
On one hand I love this site. On the other hand, I am bound to it and sometimes it feels like what it is, a part-time job. There are days/nights where I don't feel like doing the admin work and tending to the issues. But I'm always on top of stuff. But when I feel like some folks are taking advantage of the situation and of me, it's bothersome. I'm not talking about the guy with 1,300 posts who logs in once a week to see what's going on. I'm talking about those who are on here 1.25-3 hours a day, every day.
The site "looking like AIDS" and "looking like dogshit" based on recent format changes has nothing to do with me. There's not much I can do about it besides raising issues to the Vanilla IT team or finding us a new home altogether, which would cause a new chorus of complaints because most people don't like change. It does sound like enough websites like mine have raised the issues sufficiently that Vanilla will find the solutions to keep their customers content.
So when a disgruntled poster offers me $300 to simply change the name of a reaction button to our football website, I say sure why not.
ATBS, I don't want to overlook the many supportive posters who donated generously in 2023 to keep the lights on here. And even some who sent me an extra $20 here, or $100 there during the holidays, just to show their appreciation for our little community here, and spurred on by the 14-1 season we were living through.
That's about all I've got to say on the manner.

I told Stalin in PM I was open to putting amazeballs up to a vote. It's not my favorite line in the world, but maybe it could be a compromise. I know some will always want chins though. Ultimately, it's up to him.
Regarding Pumpy, remember, he hated chins as much as I do.

I'm far from rich, in fact, some have called me poor. No kids or wife spending my hard earned money though, so that makes a difference

Can't live without my Chins
I'm fabulously, upper middle class wealthy because sugar mamas have always gravitated towards yours truly. But the same pot of money and matrimonial bliss puts a hard cap on HH donations.
It's hard, it's a process.

Can't live without my Chins
While I strongly disagree with (and I think most of our community concurs) Bill's Chincredible grievance , I fully understand and appreciate @DerekJohnson your frustrations as described above. And in the big scheme of things it's a far bigger concern in terms of the long term health of HardcoreHusky.com.
I think the time has come to put an end to Free Beer mega posting.

I've been casually following this topic in two threads and trying to find a reason to care. I've failed so far. I don't relate to FMB's hatred of the chin button being severe enough that it's worth $300 to change it, but money speaks louder than words. We all come here because we follow a sport where tradition means fuckall and everything is there for the taking if you can come up with the $$.
You rich folks who don't like the change should put together an offer that Stalin can't refuse and get it changed back.
