I’m not gonna listen to hours of TSIO to prove that there was more nuance in their argument than is presented here. Really don’t care that much.
-
how would one find links to those old podcasts pods?
-
@Houhusky pulled the receipts

Google is your friend, but I’ll do it for you.

My recollection on the whole Fast Strategy theory is similar to @Quietcowskee ’s where it was effectively “secure upbringing” = slow strategy and “insecure upbringing” = fast strategy.
And then it turned to a racial thing - which I always thought was sarcastic - as a short cut on the fast/slow delineation.
But I only consumed maybe 25% of the content they produced while on here and they were quickly proven wrong on many of their hawt takes. Jacob Sirmon QB god.

I thought they mainly just wanted to recruit and market the school more like Oregon.
I do miss Dennis blacked out and slurring "Stanford....fuck them" on their pod.
-
I think the recruiting website actually existed, no idea if it's still around
-
Dennis drunk pods were gold

Thanks for the refresher chief, slowly starting to come back to me now

The racism/OKG/fast strategy meme was a character that very quickly morphed into a real thing, it actively harmed UW. I know people who worked in the department during that time that had their careers impacted by the cancerous idea of the UW athletic department/UW football admin being racist. The OKG/Pete/UW football racism thing WAS opportunistically used and further promoted by both Oregon in recruiting and the FSP 7 on 7 Seattle community that were upset about not getting more access from Pete/UW. DDY and the podcast guys on twitter did spread the racism idea far further than anything that has ever emanated from this silly non serious hobby bored. Below are just a couple of the many many examples, you can say that these were the insane ramblings of a man with a clown nose doing a funny, but at best, it was hyperbole masking the very real accusation of racism and it gave enemies of the program real ammunition.
I posted this recently on the recruiting bored when the topic came up:
Speaking of the TSIO crew and their short lived attempt to go big/mainstream I predicted DDY's (and the rest of them) quick demise here: https://hardcorehusky.com/discussion/comment/984712#Comment_984712
His posting in 2019 was reduced, compared to the manic years before, but he ability to coherently post non UW/Pete/OKG is racist ideas was greatly diminished;
It was clear then that he had lost his edge and the flanderization of his character blurred his real personal politics and the bored character... The racist meme peddled by "the guys" as a joke(?) had reached full Poes laws status.
A few others like @PostGameOrangeSlices tried fighting the now ironically-unironically promoted DDY narrative: https://hardcorehusky.com/discussion/comment/1056621#Comment_1056621 or https://hardcorehusky.com/discussion/comment/1058208#Comment_1058208
Their website would launch a few months later, they didn't make it to the end of 2019
In the now postmortem reflection; DDY talked about "bottom up pressure" because pressure for the program to do better wasn't coming from the top admin and he fixated on the destruction of OKG (because he wanted Built for Life, B4L) as his own personal goal. IMO initially it was hyperbolic, a meme in good fun, until he became schizophrenically attached to "OKG" destruction over anything else. He knew promoting the race stuff was harming Pete/UW but that was only more proof he was right about OKG being bad. When Pete left at the end of 2019, OKG was gone. In those last few years DDY didn't care about UW, football, or Pete, he was wholly consumed by the now self-insert character, and once OKG was gone, so departed DDY... There was nothing left for him anyways...

SubK, DDY, and that autistic fuck Pepsi are all enemies of the program.

Dennis was really funny. Until he wasnt.
I still chuckle at his nicknames for players
"Count Chocula"
"Opera Singer"
That said, dude is the definition of a limousine liberal and a complete dumbfuck.
-
Agree on all of that.
-
100% this. Coker cried when I told him he was an enemy. FTG.

Their folly to me was thinking they had enough of a brand to launch a new site. They should have just stayed here and fought it out.
