illegal immigration is tied directly to the unemployment rate. When unemployment is low, immigration is high, and vice versa. With shrinking birth rates, we need immigrants, but we also need many illegal ones, so we can take advantage of them for cheap labor. It’s a disgusting truth but it’s still the truth. That is why nothing will ever get done with illegal immigration. The Deep State relies on it.
If we granted citizenship to all illegals, our food prices would jump 25-50% overnight, food shortages would also come quickly, and our social security system would collapse. Basically, it would be a complete crumbling of our financial system. No bueno.
If we stop all new incoming immigrants, we would become what Japan is currently. A country with a flat stock market with no economic growth.
The Deep State is forcing the status quo. If Republicans or Democrats got their way on immigration reform, our economic system would be fucked.

What's happening now will kill this country
If we need Mexican labor to harvest vegetables then institute a Bracero program which we had until 1964. No families, no illegals, no residency, no amnesty, just a worker doing work legally. Not unlike a B-1 visa program. The US farm industry was doing fine in 2019 without the current swarms of illegals which aren't coming here to harvest vegetables.
We don't need them picking vegetables. Nancy is looney.
