The end of Hardcore Husky free beer would be an interesting little social experiment.

BTW @FireKliavkoff and @2PACCoug are all still up for grabs. -

I've had issues with posting to site over the years and @DerekJohnson helped me out every single tim. He's a benevolent dictator.
Don't be a little bitch and passive aggressively poast to the board...it's the HCH equivalent of an angry Yelp review. PM the man who can actually do something. -

Too bad Pup didn't make it long enough to witness this season. He would have really enjoyed the ride and had great fun fucking with @SECDAWG.
R.I.P. Pup, you are missed. -
In honor of PLSS:Feces@SECDAWG you worthless cunt, allow me to explain something to you. The Fire Marshal and I actually add something of value here. You're just part of the 81% ofgriswoldSECRant.com refugees who go largely unnoticed here, moreover you wouldn't be missed if you diaff.

No health and wellness of the Hardcore Husky type issue conflicts me more than Free Beer.
One the one hand, I understand and appreciate the role Free Beer plays in growing and/or sustaining our community. I don't think 2016 Yella bothers to try my hand at being a Hardcore Husky poster w/o Stalin's free sudz. And my life hasn't quite been the same since. But, 7 years and 33K shit posts later, you can bet your ass I'm tithing to Stalin.
I greatly enjoy so many of the contributions of our long time, free beer mega posters. But if I ever am fortunate enough to have a beer with any of you guysm in person I'm gonna say it to your face to get your shit together and do the right thing. -
This. I didn’t donate for a few years after I joined, but I’d feel like a piece of shit not chipping in at this point.YellowSnow said:

It's an interesting idea.
I used to post on dawgman way back in the day. I was like 17 years old and I remember reading the DuckFIghter Illustrated, I remember the NegaDawg/PosiDawg wars. I missed the memo and never found HHB or any of the hardcore husky predecessors. I've mostly been posting at UWDawgPound for the last 7-8 years. At any rate, i've been lurking here for about 2 years now, and not sure I would have every made an account if not for the hilarity and malarkey that I could enjoy with the free beer.
All that to say, I think there has to be some free beer, but also, it's probably about time for me to consider contributing. -
And you're getting crushed by Idaho income tax and still got a golden football!! Much respeck, pal.EsophagealFeces said:

It’s a delicate line to walk, and even with all the donations the work you, @DerekJohnson, and the other mods do is not appreciated enough, never mind adequately financially compensated for. It’s definitely a labor of love on your parts. So yeah, it does feel annoying when people who practically live here 24/7 don’t chip in.YellowSnow said:

Still, as a counter argument, we’re all getting hit up for donations and fucking “virtual tip jars” all the time…and it keeps getting worse…and multiple times a year. So I get it if there’s a “I gave at the office” mentality paired with a “why should I pay for the cow when I get the milk for free” attitude. -
Stalin doesn't make a profit off this site. At best, he's covering the (Vanilla) operating cost and maybe having enough left over to come down to play a weekend of golf in Bend with Old Yella. Our dear leader spends countless hrs a week, pro bono, running this shit hole so that we can enjoy a one of a kind college football message board experience.Doog_de_Jour said:

The above mentioned counter-argument doesn't really work well as an analogy for HH free beer. It's got nothing to do with the constant ask for donations we all get annoyed with. Rather, Derek provides a service than many of us spend hrs a week or more enjoying, and that deserves buying a round of beer for the group.
There's not a single valid excuse for not having, at least, a standard supporter donation.
Privacy concerns? My first donation was $40.00 with a sticky note saying @YellowSnow - thanks in an envelope with no return address.
Can't afford $25.00 per year - maybe post less on the interwebs and get a side hustle.
Have a beef with Stalin - great, then make like a tree.
Too lazy - GTFO
-
Like I said, I know how hard Derek works and this is a break even venture at best. I try to do my best to support this site.YellowSnow said:

But there’s also other content creators / sites / businesses that give the exact same reasoning to me. I know for some of them I’m the “free beer” guy. I can’t really explain why I let myself off the hook with them, but not this place. It’s not fair/rational, but it’s just me being honest, so that’s why I want to avoid picking on the casual freeloading.
-
Good points. I add though there's a difference between casual freeloading - which I'd argue necessary for the success HH - vs chronic and acute, free beer addiction. Where the line gets crossed I don't know.Doog_de_Jour said:
