In defense of Texas' pass D... couple of things to keep in mind... Texas ALWAYS has a very low ranking in total pass defense, EVERY year, even in their best years... every big 12 team is pass first and pass heavy... plus everyone we've played this season has abandoned the run apparently before the game started

UT's secondary isnt bad, it's not elite at every level but there's a mix of experience and talent that I believe is on par or better than anyone ya'll have faced this season

It's matchup to watch but NOT the disparity that #1 vs #95 makes it out to be... the BIGGEST matchup of the game to watch is ball control. Can the Huskies consistently keep the ball away from Texas' offense by sustaining long drives?

Do you even have an understanding of what UW does with 11? Probably think UW is just going to run the ball between the tackles as well.

Do you really think that you're defense is going to be able to take away the balance of UW's WRs? Do you have any concept whatsoever of how UW consistently puts a defense in a position where it is violating its coverage rules and placing 2 of its receivers against 1 defender while a good chunk of a defense is sitting there trying to figure out what is going on? And I'm going to have a good laugh when our former walk-on never played football TE makes your defense that is going to drop back to prevent big plays (oh we know all about your DC) only to have the TE delay his releases and catch easy 7-10 yard gains in space.

What you don't understand about the comment about forcing the CBs to play the run is two-fold. First, keeping outside leverage in the run game for your CBs is a big part of ensuring solid releases for the WRs and being able to manipulate routes and leverage to UW's advantage. Second, because the balance of our running comes in the form of toss sweeps and getting outside of the tackle box with usually multiple pulling OL or a pulling OL and TE in motion coming with kickout blocks, your CBs are going to be asked to stick their nose into blocks that a lot of DBs don't want to take on. UW's running up the middle is going to likely be situational and to keep your defense honest.

If you think "ball placement" won't be a problem for Texas then I don't really know what to tell you ... you list off a ton of attributes that are great but they mean nothing compared to how demoralizing it is to have really good coverage and a ball placed where you have no shot to defend or when a WR just goes and makes a contested catch that demoralizes you
