I feel like Ward is the bar. Gotta clear it. Can't afford to go any lower.PostGameOrangeSlices said:I dont want Ward

I think I’d rather have the rambling man Will Rogers
-
I want whomever the coaches think is best. I’m skeptical that Ward can run this system in year 1, but I trust the coaches to pick someone who’s got the right stuff. If they think that’s Ward, it’s good by me.PostGameOrangeSlices said:I dont want Ward

he is not Penix, but still would do well under boner/grubb.PostGameOrangeSlices said:I dont want Ward
Are there any other prospects that we could go after that look better options? -
It's gonna be Ward or Will Rogers. Totally different strengths and weaknesses. Will be very chinteresting to see which route they want to go.

Pull a Caleb Williams while you're at it and demand a piece of the university's endowment.WoolleyDoog said:
Fair. Fair. I wonder if portal recruits are doing the thing where they ask for money just for a visit too?animate said:An all expenses paid vacation to Miami plus a little extra spending money just for showing up?
PLUS some high caliber south beach poontang to boot?
I'd take a trip to Mario Land for sho. -
To me Ward is a bigger version of Heaner. Heaner was known as a gunslinging turnover machine at Husky practices and DeBoer/Grubb wrangled him in and got him drafted. Like Heaner did at Fresno (Oregon, Hawaii, Boise), Ward will lose UW a game or two by a sloppy play with the ball but will win them a game or two they shouldn't (UCLA, almost Oregon) because of sheer brilliance in this system. With Rogers they better hope DJ comes back or that they can snag another war daddy to tote the rock (TWILTCI, TTR), because I'm not sure he can win games with his skills alone.

The intriguing thing about ward is his biggest weakness (ball security) could just be the result of a poor OL, in which case going to UW (who should bring back 4/5 starters I think?) could be an immediate fix for that.

Ward is intriguing. Cannon of an arm. Scrambles and is a playmaker.ntxduck said:The intriguing thing about ward is his biggest weakness (ball security) could just be the result of a poor OL, in which case going to UW (who should bring back 4/5 starters I think?) could be an immediate fix for that.
Developed bad habits back pedaling which creates massive sacks and at times is throwing passes from 12 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
Also is not the brightest. Continually will run out of bounds a yard short of the 1st down marker instead of extending the ball which makes me question his football IQ.
His oline has been terrible and they have tried the bo nix approach of quick short passes. I think with a better oline he could break those habits and be pretty good.
