Texas' secondary is the weakest link on their team as is. Got torched by the 2 "good" QB's they've faced this year (Dillon Gabriel and Will Howard) and also let up a ton of passing yards to mediocre Houston and TCU offenses. Played Jalen Milroe before he got benched and started figuring it out.
I think Kwat will likely play his usual conservative bend but don't break with deep safeties knowing this (same thing he did in the Alamo Bowl last year), and see if he can stop the run with 6 man boxes. Dillon Johnson should hopefully run all over that strategy, but also hope Grubb/Penix don't get cute and just takes the short and intermediate throws the defense goves them
Watching him try to contain Rome/Polk/McMillan should be interesting. Oddly feel that our? OL should have a decent game against them
There is nothing odd about it. They literally pushed these guys around last year
Polk got hurt on the first play from scrimmage flea flicker in the Alamo Bowl and was pretty much a decoy the rest of the game. Taj Davis played a lot of snaps. But with Rome and Jalen being contained by Kwat's D, Westy and the mediocre RB's like Taulapapa and Newton had their best games of the season. And to PGOS point, the OL was fairly dominant in that game
Apparently their other starting safety just portaled too.
And Sark announced that players in the portal will be allowed to keep practicing/playing with the team until they have officially signed somewhere else.
What could go wrong?
That is mind blowing, but Sark gonna Sark
He just wants half a chance to beat a superior team and superior coach.
