I stopped at letting the citizens vote for whether we go to war. Holy fucking pressing on a side salad. I'm sure the average joe has time to figure out complex geopolitical situations and assess the best course of action in between their Kardashian gossip and Facebook/twitter. Fuck me.
Obviously it would be nuanced than that you stupid mother fucker. How about only people that score above 150 on an iq test....
That would preclude anyone on this bored from voting.
You might be surprised, and even 120+ would be a reasonable qualification
An IQ test. Brilliant. I don't know why no one ever thought of that before.
I take it you wouldn't be voting, in that case.
How about you have to pass an IQ test, have to score above a certain percentage on a global politics familiarity quiz, and have to have a bachelors degree to vote? than only really informed people that want to vote will be influencing society, not dumbfucks? Makes about as much sense as our current system.
But like I said, every system is a leaky ship waiting for clever people to exploit the weaknesses.

Because I've met so many with bachelor's degrees that always know what is going and so many, almost all who don't have one are simple folk who can't even find 'Merica on a goddamn map.
Ron Paul has good ideas and fucking stupid ideas, just like everyone else.
Get rid of the executive branch of the government. #PureDemocracy
This idea is stupiderer than some of Ron Paul's ideas. Who would make quick decisions when they're needed? That squirming mass of bickering mice on Capitol Hill?
How often is it that quick fucking decisions are needed to be made? Whether or not to get a blowie while the first lady is getting botox? If the US gets nuked first it nukes back instantly...the military can handle its own shit and is highly capable and based on the merit system. Let the fucking citizens vote on whether or not to go to war with a cuntry for all I care. I bet we would've never gone to Iraq or Nam.
Every political system conceivable will be exploited by sociopaths and power hungry individuals. The system we have in place now just makes it easily susceptible to a bunch of bs.
Long story short, I have no fucking idea what exactly the most efficient system would be. It's easy to criticize the system we have now, and there are issues with it (rising tuition costs, 1% controlling more of the pie than necessary, grade school public education, etc.), but coming up with a better system is pretty much unfeasible at this point. It's just interesting to talk about as we sit here in our mother's basement with boners in our sweatpants, waving at the NSA watching us on there lunch break through our webcams.
Wasn't born til 1980 so Nam I cunt speak to, but the nation was well in favor of going to war in Iraq when we do, that vote would have passed easily - it wasn't until we had been there for months with no sign of WMD's that public opinion started swinging hard against being in Iraq. Unless you're suggesting we do a year long campaign before a vote, in which case that illustrates OBK's poont about the necessity of quickness.
