#1 college game I ever went to in person. So amazing and as time passes it's crazy how we won with our highest draft pick being Stevens and they had SO many first rounders and great NFLers.

That was such a special day ... and really one of the first times where you could look at the importance of the crowd and the impact it had on a team. It was like that that entire year ... just something special as you had a team that believed in themselves to somehow someway find a way to make winning plays but a crowd that also knew that somehow someway it'd all work out.

Two things really stood out to me from my seat at the 50 yard line in the student section that I had to show up about 90 minutes before kickoff to get:

    1) Santana Moss was a massive target by the student section (and as the story said by the team as well). You could see from the stands that he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on the field that day.

    2) That was Ken Dorsey's first road start. For the first half of the game, he looked like a deer in headlights. He didn't know what to do at all and you could tell that he was overwhelmed. I have a long standing rule that I don't trust QBs making their first road start in tough environments because of Ken Dorsey.

There is NO footage of this classic on youtube which is surprising. 2001 rematch is there if you dare. I have the 2000 game on VHS, but my co-worker fucked up and recorded it at EP trying to save some space on the video cassette. Cheap barstard

    Did find this tho -

Tuiasosopo recalled. “The earth was shaking like it was an earthquake. It’s hard to explain. You can’t think straight or talk to the guys next to you. It seemed like the stadium was swaying back and forth.”

That's exactly the feeling I had on the south overhang. Personally that was the rockingest game I've ever been to, before or since. I didn't realize that Alexis didn't know where the play was going. That might have been one reason why Miami didn't cover it. ALexis would have no body language going on to tip them off. I vividly remember him running down the sidelines with the ball and how crazy the place was! What good memories. Back when I was really a fan.

Look at the incredible damage Emmert did to this program, as evidenced by you and so many other who don't feel the prior levels of devotion to the team.
