Looks Like Poor Aubbie Is Getting Beat Up For Having Expectations

TequillaTequilla Member Posts: 19,939
Judging from some of the post headings, looks like Aubbie is saying that he's expecting 11 wins with Petersen and 10 wins if Sark was still here while also reminding that we've won with 1st year starting QBs before. Of course, Aubbie is meeting the usual resistance from Kim Jong Vino, Ektard, and Butler Cabin.

The whole we've never won with a 1st year starting QB is a load of bullshit ... just say Billy Joe Hobert and drop the mic. If you really want to insult people, bring the names of Peyton Manning >>> Tee Martin to the table.

The whole questioning of 11 wins just shows you want kind of piss poor expectations that those people who value access more than results have. The schedule is a fucking dreckfest set up for a huge season:

Out of Conference (4 games): @ Hawaii, Eastern Washington, Illinois, Georgia St - who actually thinks that we're going to lose any of these games?

Conference Road Dreckfests (2 games): @ Cal and @ Colorado - probably not losing either of these games ... there's 6 wins.

Conference Home Games (4 games): Stanford, Arizona St, UCLA, Oregon St ... I get that Stanford and UCLA are going to be difficult games; ASU is rebuilding and we should beat Oregon St; you can be conservative and say that we're going to win 3 of the 4 home games and that's fine ... my guess is that if you ask Petersen in a private truthful moment he'd tell you that the goal is to go undefeated at home

Non-Conference Dreckfest Road Games (3 games): @ Oregon, @ Arizona, @ Washington St ... None of these games are gimme wins and of course until we beat Oregon it's hard to predict that we will beat them but the other two games are definitely winnable ...

Bottom line is that 11 wins comes down to winning 3 of the "tough" home games and 2 of the non-dreckfest road games or winning all 4 of the conference home games and 1 of the road games. Is it really that difficult to ask what should be a good UW team to win 5 of their 7 tough games?

I'd be really interested to see how long it'd take a post to get deleted asking Butler Cabin if he's still prepared to make a $10k donation to the UW Athletic Department in my name.

I'm actually glad the citrus fiesta boys are setting low expectations over there. It's dumb, but much better than suddenly having high expectations after enabling Sark's crap for years. Pete will exceed their expectations and they will drift further into irrelevance.

Those dumb fucking donkeys have been irrelevant their whole lives and they aren't about to start realizing it any time soon. Their expectations are low due to the state of their pitiful lives where reading a tweet from Sark was the day's highlight.

    10 wins or GTFO.

Keep it simple next time Aubs.

11 wins is indeed doogish but, not completely out of the question given Peterman's pedigree. Lack of a bye week could hurt down the stretch but you never really know until the games are played and injuries start to surface.

9 or 10 seems more realistic to me but if a fan wants to throw his support behind a new coach by setting the bar at 11, fine by me. Peterman can handle the pressure of high expectations.

No Aub's gets dogged because he constantly makes simplistic evaluations based on high school recruit rankings. HTH

If we go 5-4 in conference this year, we all should go find the Aurora Bridge and light ourselves on fire.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of lighting yourself on fire then? If you jump off the bridge while on fire you will die from the impact of the water and the flames will extinguish.

I'd rather light myself on fire at Dino's (Kent Griswold says they have good wine). That way I could enjoy a nice riesling before my impending doom.

I think he meant Conference non-dreckfest road games.

    This.

We have a lot of twisters around here looking to capitalize on the few things that one does wrong instead of all of the things that are done right.

    Wow. Just Wow.

Common wisdom would say "yes" - however, in this case, only the extinguishing method is poor. What should be done is to set your target audience on fire and then extinguish them.................with a steamroller.
