Watched another WW2 movie last night - Beyond Valkyrie: Rise of the 4th Reich - far fetched story line trying to get the head guys of the Nazis before they head off to Argentina. It was a side story for what they were originally trying to do on their mission into East Prussia. Good rack for a minute or two 2/3 of the way in.

Deadpool was worth it just for some of Ryan Reynold's jokes. However yes as a massive comic book movie hater I generally avoid them because I'm sick of the MCU and shitting out like 5+ movies a year with a bunch of big actors mailing it in. I almost hate all the Millennials/X/Z more that eat all of them up. They're making a fucking Kraven movie for Christ sake (a random Spider-Man villain).

There was even a joke in the movie about how "Wizard of Oz did this multiverse stuff originally and the gays approved of it so why keep making this shit". And of course Ryan Reynolds bragging about all the Disney money he's raking in.

Alien Romulus is actually the movie I want to see but the wife wouldn't see it so doing that tomorrow. Sci-Fi is only tolerable when there's horror attached.

    Horizon, American Saga I

Probably should just be a miniseries or show in Paramount, but very good, especially for a 3 hour movie.

Maybe the entire epic will flop at the box office (seems like this first one was a victim of bad timing), but Costner was right to leave Yellowstone for this.

Did you tell them iBOB is the best WW2 movie? I like to show the kids the Nazi Medal Granda Yella took of a dead or captured kraut.

    Aliens: Romulus.

It was so bad that I left half way through and had beers.

Very disappointed that this is a flub in the franchise. Some of the reviews are savage.

I’m going to just put a list of movies appropriate for littles as we binged a shit ton of movies this weekend.
    the long game

    The hill

    Wonder

Not for kids, though a series, Griselda. Bitch is crazy. Drugs and a crazy mess.

The brothers son - really enjoyed this. Also about gangs and killing.

So kids movies or drugs, killings, and gangs.

I saw it again tonight and finished it. The issue is clearly that they got the greenlight to make a classic Alien movie (the cinematography was beautiful in the first half) but the second half just devolves into trying to shove in the ideas from the Prometheus prequels, since they apparently won't let RS make his third movie.

And the middle 30-40% of the movie is just straight up boring as a result of trying to mash two movies together like that.

Watched Ghostbusters Afterlife and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.

Afterlife was decent, lots of nostalgia and some nice moments recognizing Harold Ramis. Some great cameos from the original Ghostbusters.

Frozen Empire was meh. A few funny moments. If I wasn’t a completist, I would’ve thought about turning it off.
