It's wild they made a blockbuster movie that is that big of a maudlin borefest. I think the deal was they thought Spielberg was gonna direct it and they were really far along when he changed his mind so it made sense to just keep going since they had invested so much in it and he would stay on as a producer.
He certainly is but I think may have transferred to Seattle Prep or O'Dea late to get recruited or something. I think it's come up on the podcast but his parents stayed in the area and his dad was my dad's chiropractor for years. It was pretty funny because my dad is an insane person and Caviezel sr was a very quiet very religious guy and would go to lunch with my dad just because he was entertained with how insane my dad is.
It seems like Mount Vernon has a pretty impressive notable alum section given its population. That doesn't include Glen Beck who I think is also from MV. Don't know what to compare it to I guess though. Aberdeen is pretty insane given the population.
The White Lotus this season is beyond a shit boring show with the tiny exception of the suspicion against the widow from season 1/2, and even with that subplot it's obvious that he's going to get caught since he's a white, rich, bald character on a show that's designed to hate rich white people.
I still love White Lotus and love having some kind of TV that is even remotely transcendent, which is something we need, but holy shit this season is slow. Four episodes of the same thing repeating over and over again. The dad on the damn phone has been having the same conversation over and over again and we knew from the trailer and the writing on the wall he was fucked from the start. The creator's first show, Enlightened, is a show I actually love.
The show this year is making me realize that I can't do miniseries nearly as much now. Now every fucking miniseries, whenever there's a slow setup or a slow filler episode, just makes me think that they actually have a 1-3 hour movie/story that they've decided to stretch out to 10.
Mare of Easttown feels like the last show that was great about not fucking with my time and actually needed 10-12 episodes to fully tell the story.
Industry on HBO is solid. Lots of gratuitous sex which can actually be annoying and a little too much homo action for me (offset by hot lesbo action) But the characters are interesting and well acted.
the new season of Temptation Island is on Netflix. This is one of the things that is in my Shame-ber, a guilty pleasure I have enjoyed since it debuted on Fox like 23 years ago and revived recently with the original host. Watched the first three episodes and will try to watch the rest over the next few days.

You’re damn right I called it “meh”
Isn't Jim Caviezel a Bulldog from Mt. Vernon?
His sharp shooting brother was.

Born in Mount Vernon for sure. I’m gonna be upset if he isn’t one of #myLancers because I was either lied to or just got it plain wrong.
Amberleigh West ain't ugly.
Just confirmed he’s one of #myLancers. Sadly, Sam Huard is also list under the “notable alumni” section. I’m assuming Damon added him.
Looking up notable alumni sent me down a rabbit hole looking at high schools in Burien and Seattle.
The biggest “holy shit” discovery from Highline High School:
Mike Starr was on celebrity rehab?
There was something called celebrity rehab?

Watch A Real Pain over the weekend. Two cousins travel to Poland and visit their dead grandmas childhood home.
Need to watch it again because the edible/vodka club soda combo kicked in and I dozed through most of it.
Lake George
Stumbled into it on OnDemand.
Kind of a dark comedy/modern LA-Noire that stylistically is most like Barry.
Carrie Coon is generally very good and made me lol a few times with some of the grotesque mobster situations.

Finance and blow is always a good watch.
Wicked - very gay
I watched a few episodes.
Mostly I fall back to Charlie Sheen Two and a Half Men reruns.
