Tbf I think both sides can see the writing on the wall that Trump will be in office soon and are playing massive gambits before the end of the year.
I really wouldn't be surprised by either team falling apart in the 4th qtr here as much of the last few years starts catching up with them.
Even if Ukraine collapses though, Russia has taken massive strategic losses it's probably never recovering from.

BTW the EU is responsible for over half of all Russian oil exports in 2024.
