I don’t totally agree with this opinion, I believe the Soviet Union eventually lost the economic and political power to control so many different ethnic countries and so much land mass, but if you do think about it, less than 20 years ago Hillary Clinton was palling around with Medvedev and the “recharge” novelty button. Obama was mocking Mitt Romney about the 1980s calling for their Russian policy back. Then the 2014 coup we backed occurred for still unexplained reasons, US politicians had family members making big money for Ukrainian companies, and suddenly Russia was enemy #1 for trying to protect themselves by moving on Crimea.

Awfully quiet in here after Ukraine aid was passed across the aisle. Bipartisanship is hard to accept, I get it. Trump/Johnson wouldn't allow the GOP dream, bipartisan brokered border bill that was clamored for to even be voted on despite the fact that it would have passed. It was clearly never about the border in the first place. It was about having something for Trump to campaign against. It's clear as day and the wannabe demagogue has said as much. The GOP of course cited the packaged Ukraine aid as the reason not to vote on the border bill. That was their excuse anyway, and tried to leverage. 6 months later that Ukraine aid passed in a separate package anyway, with bipartisan support. Still no border bill. Had it right in their hands and threw it away for Donald Trump. Donald fucking Trump. What a joke the GOP is. You can't make this shit up. The party is in ruins. MAGA and Donald Trump have destroyed everything good about American conservatism. There was plenty. MAGA and Donald Trump are not conservatives. The sooner you get that shit through your head the better.
