Played 9 for holes after work with my neighbor on Wednesday. Practice golf w/o keeping score, but mostly bogeys and double bogey which is good for Yella.

Free golf and practice golf are my two favorite kinds of golf. Old Yellar is gonna be breaking 100 before we know it!

    The better team wasn't favored

The Euro roster is the better roster

    This honestly isn't that surprising

At some point after the last 30 years its time to stop favoring the USA. Whistling Straights was impressive but apparently an outlier. In Europe the US sucks dick

Yeah, Europe has 3 of the 4 best players. Plus the US is a bunch of front runners who suck when things go slightly bad. Only JT and Scheffler seemed to have any fight in them.

Rumors of Cantalay bitching about lack of pay for the Ryder Cup. US in a good head space in Europe like always.

As you noted, the Euros have 3 of the top 4 players in the world. Rahm has been in the discussion for best player in the world for at least 2 years now. Rory has been in the mix for at least 1-2 majors a year for how long now? I have a sneaky feeling that he's going to break through and do so in a fairly major way in the very near future. Hovland is on the cusp of winning his first major and entering into the best player in the world category.

On top of that, you have major champion winners in Lowry, Rose, and Fitzpatrick on the team.

Then if that's not enough you have players like Fleetwood and Hatton that have played at a high level for years and are definitely on the list of best players to have not won a major at this point.

You have two massive young guns in Aberg and Hojgaard that are going to be big pieces of golf over the next 10-20 years.

That leaves the "weak" links on the Euro team as Straka (Top 15 FedEx Cup and 22nd in the world) and MacIntyre (Top 10 Race to Dubai and comes in ranked a lowly 55th in the world) ... both are very very solid players.

On the US team, Burns isn't really that good IMO. Harman and Clark are on the team because they won majors this year but I'd be surprised if they are on any future teams as both strike me as far more journeyman players than not. Not picking Keegan Bradley was a HUGE mistake.

When it came to LIV departures, the US was hurt far more than what the Euros were at least for the Ryder Cups in the next few iterations. Koepka is only on the team because he actually shows up to win majors.

Getting sick and/or COVID is a tough break ... but this US team was never going to be good enough

Burns was a weird pick. He Scotties buddy and that it’s. The captains talk like they have some kind of algorithm to optimize everything with stats and then guys get paired up with their friends. All Burns good play has come on a Bermuda grass also which is a pretty big deal. Swapping him for Cam Young was a no brainer.
