Yes, if people made payments they wouldn't be forclosed on, that's true.


If I've failed to make the payments on the mortgage I signed have the banks really defrauded me out of my home? The overwhelming majority of all of these foreclosures came from people who could no longer make their payments. That's kind of an odd way for a bank to "defraud" anyone.

Should the banks have been making these loans? Fuck no and under the old lending standards they never would have written up these loans. But what changed the lending standards and why did banks and mortgage companies continue to write up these loans that they knew many times weren't going to be repaid?
