Favorite Geological Feature You've Visited

I saw this a few years back. Was expecting to be underwhelmed. I was not. Uluru will blow your mind. Highly recommend if you ever get to the land down under.

The view from Glacier Point is pretty breathtaking
Taking the Jungfraujoch train up into the mountain is pretty cool too
And hiking up to the Schwarzsee at the base of the Matterhorn
-
It's fascinated me since I was a kid.

Zermatt is awesome. Did a similar hike to yours back in HS in the mid 90s.BearsWiin said:

I visited the barn from the movie "The Ring" out in Monroe -
Not sure if this is the 'best'. But it mostly certainly the only one where I said to Mrs. Throbber, "Let's get the fuck out of here. This two foot wide trail between me and certain death is not a good time".

Mt. Saint Helens. While I think the mountain/park is worth a visit in its own right, seeing the surrounding areas that are still scarred by the eruption reminds you the power of Mother Nature:

No doubt. Not too far south from there is an interesting toxic waste dump known as Nye Sass as well. Wouldn't get too close but it's worth a look.UWhuskytskeet said:

The scum on the water is a nice touch. They've been discussing what to do with the lake since the 80's

I can't find the whole original footage from this Crockett guy. My little kid brain will never forget seeing that when it originally aired.Doog_de_Jour said:Mt. Saint Helens. I drove down there once in college looking to do a brewery tour. They were closed for good. Oly was some good, Tuff logging camp liberal beer.RaceBannon said:

I really want to go to Mount Shuksan, never been on that side of Baker. -
My granny would make sure she had little Olys in the fridge when we came to visit. Little Olys are pretty cool when you're a little kid.RaceBannon said:Clint Eastwood had Oly in his movies
My granny would have had us in family court these days.
The Olympia brewery is now a dilapidated shit pile crumbling away into a heap. -
The Brewery site should be the centerpiece of a rejuvenated Tumwater business district. But alas, it is like you say. Nice gol course though. Saw Jack and Arnie do an exhibition there as a kiddflea said:

We'd do the tour on the three or four hot days a year to hang out in the cooling building.
My grandma gave us beers and smokes too. Maybe that's what happened
Sat between the 99 and the 5 you always knew when you were home
