I've heard Hop refer to it as an active zone in interviews lately.2001400ex said:
Lol that is true. Which I think is a good thing for the most part. Of course if you play the exact same zone, teams will find holes in it.backthepack said:Our zone is kind of an amoeba.
The national media and those that call games don't get this tho. Cause they always talk about the zone defense like it's one static defense. -

Fuck yes

Three times. Blew a big second half lead in Corvallis and gave up 97pts. Escaped with a two pt. win in Seattle where we gave up 77 pts. and they knocked us out of the pac tourney. Id say they play us pretty fucking tough.HillsboroDuck said:
I mean we’ve played them twice under Hop, let’s not give them too much credit just yet.theknowledge said:
This is why Oregon State seems to have our number. Tres Tinkle just shreds our defense with smart passes to open Thompson brothers or hard slashes to the basket. I agree on the 1-3-1. If we could pull that out against OSU this weekend maybe we could finally take care of those fags.2001400ex said:
Who plays a 2-3?backthepack said:
Especially in the 2-3jhfstyle24 said:The key with McDaniels is his fucking length. Length is so, so, so huge when it comes to basketball players on defense. If you're long on defense you can really be a fucking stud. Look at fucking Kawhi.
While our zone varies a little depending on the other team. We primarily play a 4-1. Which can suck against good passing teams because Dickerson and Timmins are slow so they give up the back door too often. If we get McDaniels too, I'd think we'd play some 3-2. But regardless, we are no where near a 2-3.
I wish we'd switch to some 1-3-1 concepts at times. And take advantage of the trap in the corner. We seem more interested in stopping the corner shot than trying to get that double team. Would be effective to switch into that for a few plays at a time. -
Well he definately seems to actually give a shit about UW where as all the other schools hes like "Yea they send me texts and shit and want me to play there".RDR said: -

Scott Suggs is going to have an all conference senior year.
Jernard Jerreau is the next Kevin Durant.
Doogman hoops takes are somehow even worse than their football takes. -
Just checked, Tony Wroten is currently playing in Estonia at age 25. ESTONIA! Life comes at you fast, maybe he should have fixed his broke ass shot before going pro. Whoops!HillsboroDuck said:

Wroten has also been waived by multiple D league teams. He had a couple bright moments early on in the NBA but has been a shit show ever since.Edwin_Bambino said:

Leaving his freshman year was probably the right move. He wouldn't have been a 1st round pick without improving his sophomore season.HillsboroDuck said:

This was around the time Oregon was having a lot of success with transfers. Tge difference was Oregon was taking guys who were big-time at power 5 schools as 5th year transfers. Fucking Blackwell was like 3rd team all-WCC defensive team and he had to sit out a year to play 1 year at UW.SonnyShackelford said:Blackwell was atrocious
Dumbasses like Kim were drooling over Romar "getting into the transfer game". That was about the same time we were taking random guys like Quevyn Winters and I think we also took some shitty transfer from Duquesne who played about as much as a walkon -
A few Roman frontcourt fav players,
Jamal Williams, Brockness, Chriss,
Upshaw, Bobby Jones, Dime. -

And unlike Romar Hop will know what to do with a couple high first rounders. Let both of them come here and ball out for a year and get us an Elite 8 or FF.HillsboroDuck said:

So these kids we have never seen or heard of (if not a recruiting junkie) will spend one year at college where nobody watches anymore then be an anonymous top draft pick no one has seen and will sit on the bench to become a man so they can actually play in the NBA by the time they are even more long forgottenRDR said:
Wonder what happened to college basketball?
Spare me the kids need to be paid - they are. But is it really in the best long term interest of either business? You either need to go to 2 or 3 years or 3 years with a straight out of high school option for the rare LeBron James or the Duke kid.
Kids get paid in college too and I am hearing that college is so valuable it needs to be free. -
Oh wow. Weird. 6”11 with guard skills.RDR said: -
Adam Silver has openly mentioned the idea of “commit to 2 years of college, 2 years of D League, or enter the draft right away” idea. Which I think will give kids all the best conceivable options.RaceBannon said:

Then it becomes up to the college coaches to convince the kids that the development/education they’ll get in college is worth more than D League minimum salary. -
That’s when recruiting gets even more dirty.NEsnake12 said:

They will be even less known in the D league
College builds a brand. I'll pay attention to Zion because he is dominating the college level this year. -
Yup, you probably would get a better shoe deal with a company if you played college ball instead.RaceBannon said:They will be even less known in the D league

Fuck the D-League forever. NOGAF about that shit league. -
If some people had their way college football would give way to a minor league that NOGAF about. Bus rides and high school fields with no Coach Feld to pump you upbackthepack said:

If you go to a blue blood basketball school you can get an education if you want and you will get great facilities and coaching and have time to become a man.
