    Other than the anti Armenian crowd here I recall that Sark was universally praised when he was hired. In fact only Black coaches who get the downtrodden jobs like Texas get this kind of criticism when hired.

    Jay Mohr actually did say it was racist. I assume CollegeDoog as well

    I'm just not sure Charlie knows how to recruit Texas.

    All of his experience as a HC recruiter is at a school where he is picking up Big East type players.

    And I hope he doesn't start to fire any of the existing staff, they all have families you know.

    Phil is an Owner, not an AD. Kilkenny is the GM. The AD is just an accountant. The accountant made a smart move this off-season; Chip at $5+ million for 13 wins gets you pretty much the same revenue as Slingblade at $1.5 million for 11 wins. Because of Larry ScottFS every school pays for expenses then divides up the money equally so making the BCS Championship and the New Mexico Bowl equals the same payout.

    Accountants don't care about fans. You can still raise ticket prices and donation mandates with 11 wins the same as 13 wins. Letting Chip go makes perfect sense on paper. The Ducks are still winning double digits for a much lower price.

    What's wrong with fans or boosters being accused of racism when a black coach is hired? I'm sure the few of us who expressed our disappointment or derision over UW's hiring of Tyrone Willingham rather than get caught-up in the manufactured hyping of the worst coaching hire in Husky Football history..... could have been and were called racist.

    I have no problem looking past a man's skin color and ethnicity to his qualifications when being considered for a multi-$million coaching position at the ol' alma mater. Young Charlie Strong has proven that he's qualified for the Texas job and the Longhorns should get their program turned around under his leadership. That was certainly not the case with the worthless Tyrone.
