Virtually everything you say is moronic. That's why you get down voted. HTH.ZoneUW said:

I'm so ready to fire petersen's ass and get someone who understands how to recruit and how to win big games. Petersen is just competent enough to usually not fuck up against inferior opponents. THAT IS FUCKING IT.LaMichael_Corleone said:Also remember at one point in the winter and early spring we stopped talking to Ford because we thought Ngata was in the bag and cherished our scholarship numbers so much that we went silent on Ford until Bush came back.
Think about that.
We thought it was too big of a burden to go after Ngata and Ford while Jake Haener, Kyler Manu, and Quinten Pounds are all on scholarship and Oklahoma signs three 5 star WR’s for the first time in rivals/scout history.
The entire strategy is so bad that the act of losing Ngata we also lost Ford. In the act of losing Asa Turner we also lost Noa Pola-Gates and Titus Toler. What are the positives of the “we only have a limited amount of spots so you better commit soon or someone will soon” approach if you get Asa to commit in June and it somehow causes you to miss out on 2 other guys when he decommits? Why did we tell Tre’shaun to go away if we were going to go 0-3 on WR’s the next year. If we fucking know Bru isn’t coming here and most likely neither is Kyle why the fuck would we be so stubborn with Tre’shaun I just don’t fucking get it.
Only reason we have two titles is the pac 12 is the weakest it's been in a LONG time right now, maybe ever. -
Hey, gimme some odds lol.
- kk resigns and takes an NFL job in the next few weeks
- Ford recants and goes uw
- bru goes texas
-
Whaddya think? Plausible? -
Reporting is that Oregon was actually his second choice, so I'd say somewhere between unlikely and no fucking chance in hell.animate said:Hey, gimme some odds lol.

Has ford signed? Or is he still just committed? Because If Kliff leaves you have to think he won’t be happy.

I think we have a good chance with ford still. Once kliff resigns to interview for the NFL he will not be returning to USC. The NFL will realize he isn't the guy and he'll end up as our QB coach. Ford is basically a done deal for us. WOOF!

At this point I'm more interested in the chaos and fallout if kk actually left usc... That would be entertaining to no end.

My reading comprehension is finewhuggy said:
Uh no. That's not what I'm saying. I'm not sure about your reading comprehension. I'm simply saying you keep recruiting the position until your first choice signs. If your first choice doesn't sign in early period then you at least have an option with your second choice. Your second choice is not likely to be elite.Tequilla said:
This is one of the most fucktardedly idiotic thing I've ever seen on this boardwhuggy said:
Very correct. The position should be recruited up until Player A signs. Player B can also commit but should be told the offer is only committable if Player A doesn't sign in the early period. Then even after they sign all players should be continually recruited up until the first day of practice. After that coaches can back off slightly but still have to suck player dick because the new transfer rules means players on your roster will still be recruited by other teams.LaMichael_Corleone said:
Where is the upside to shutting down a positions recruiting and trusting the “commitment” of a kid when it’s backfired multiple times. This isn’t an outlier this has hurt us in multiple occasions to the point I want to know the pros about telling kids to fuck off do to a positional cap. It’s dumb.Tequilla said:It’s easy to play Monday Morning QB
If the strategy works nobody complains
When it misses turn everything over and blow it up
There are consequences to behaviors and strategies
Let's just say that there are 10 different positional groups on a football team (QB, RB, TE, WR, OL, DL, ILB, OLB, CB, S) so you're advocating for a +1 10 different times.
So first thing first, you're asking 10 ELITE level kids to be willing to go up to early Signing Day with a non committable offer while spots at other ELITE programs are filling up.
Do you realize how fucking laughable that is?
In other words, you're essentially advocating "transparently slow playing" guys ... which could be described as a similar strategy as to what is done with in-state players ... which most are all over for saying that our strategy absolutely sucks ass.
So what you're really advocating with that strategy is not having elite players on the hook but having more Plan B guys on the hook ... who potentially aren't signing anyway on early Signing Day as they wait to see how things shake out at the big time programs because that Oregon St offer will always be there still if they are good enough.
Just that what you are advocating is against what Pete has established
Now, he could change it ... but as is isn’t happening -
This doesn't make any real sense, why do these kids need an "excuse". They grew up rooting for USC, USC was their dream school, it's close to home, etc. That's all the "excuse" they need. They don't have to mention coaching at all, especially not a coach who hasn't even been there. If they're bringing @KkkliffKkklingsbury up on their own it's probably because they like KKKliff.Domicillo said:

Welp, rumor has it kliff is interviewing, so either he resigned from USC or they backed off

First time the USC fan base has experienced this, and they aren't taking it very well.
Kliff completely misjudged his demand, but so did USC. I would like to think USC didn't realize it either or they wouldn't have hired him. But then again, it's USC, and the stank of arrogance might have bit them. -
He’s the excuse that USC is actually changing their culture/addressing the problems that plagued them this year but that is far more about optics than fact. If USC didn’t get Kliff, their “off-season turnaround” doesn’t exist. He’s the only poster boy validating Clay keeping his job. But don’t get it twisted, all of these kids were going to commit to USC regardless, he just makes it easier to sell to the public.HillsboroDuck said:

Read what some of these kids are saying, Kliff never comes up on their own unless promoted by an interviewer. We’re saying the same thing, they don’t need an excuse for themselves, they already decided on USC, just makes it easier to sell the decision to others from a football perspective. -
We’re not saying the same thing though, I’m saying it’s very possible Ford doesn’t pick SC if not for Kliff. If Kliff leaves before signing day it will be very interesting to see if Ford waivers.Domicillo said:

Both Ford and McCoy committed as he was rumored to be interviewing
Who this might impact is nacua. He expressed concern in a Huffman article over r the uncertainty with Utah's oc situation. This would almost certainly make him raise an eye. -

Well then, I hope you’re right, but I don’t think there’s a chance Ford leaves if Kliff isn’t there. Kid wants to be the next JuJu and was sold on the “USC alumni” connections. We got out built for life for him, Kliff’s just a talking point.HillsboroDuck said:

this is 2019, the possibilities are endless. -
Ford is gone. He is USC fast strategy. We only have a shot with Nacua and we can't fuck around. We need to get Marcus Tuiasasopo on staff asap to show him the UW way. We have a shot with him. Not with socal private school guys that are wanted by USC. Not at the moment any way. In the future maybe. But not now.

You are a doog if you want to hire Tui as our WR coach lol.JustWinNow said:Ford is gone. He is USC fast strategy. We only have a shot with Nacua and we can't fuck around. We are getting some of the SoCal private school kids too. It’s fucking sales! -
Tui made his bed moment he decided to leave uw, he was given the option stay
-
Tui has bounced around for years at the same position. He's not what we need.

Currently we are getting some socal private school guys but not the big time players we really want and need and should by now given the success. I don't need Tui to be the WR coach but at least someone like him. He has a good resume. I don't want some fuck that is just a Petersen yes man. Which is what we will probably get. Tui was at least a pro and has coached other places in the pac 12. He can recruit the islands and knows socal recruiting somewhat. I am a doog for wanting Tui but I bet he will be better than who ever we get. Also since it's sales. Successful companies hire a proven salesman when they hire not fuckers that are just starting out as salesmen. So Petersen should hire a fucken stud. But he won't he will hire a kiss ass. Therefore my Tui choice will be better than who ever he hires.
