Is it really Browning’s fault?

Mickens may have caught more than he dropped but browning probably threw more backs behind his receivers than in front of them. Browning was shit with ross and Pettis - he just had better looking stats. A quarterback who requires receivers to make circus catches constantly is shit. While wr recruiting should have been better that wasn't going to improve Jake's timing or accuracy.

UW is supposed to be an elite team in a Power 5 conference. Petersen didn’t recruit one single NFL WR for this team. Not one.
Zero.
Oregon State didnt seem to fail like that. Nor did Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, ASU -
Wrong. Pettis was a signed by Pete. Players like jones, spiker, Osborne, etc have a chance. It isn't news to anyone that wr recruiting under pease was generally crap.sarktastic said:UW is supposed to be an elite team in a Power 5 conference. Aaron Fuller and the Oprea Singer were our leading receivers. Fix WR recruiting. It sucks right now.
Jake Browning fucking sucks stop. -
Not too many heady, gym rat, first in last out type wide receivers out there to choose from. It's hard.

You do realize Jakes completion % is top 25 in the country, right? 30 more pass completions over a season he’d be #1 ahead of Jack Abraham of Southern Mississippi State.
You don’t think recruiting ONE of Alabama’s( or tOSU, OSU, UO, ASU, ... etc.) NFL recievers would have helped him get 30 more completions?
8 more completions, on the Season, Browning is top 10 in the Country.
Eight. -
Wow, now you're using a hypothetical statistic to try and justify browning. While we're spouting nonsense, maybe we actually recruited a bunch of nfl caliber receivers but jake sabotaged their careers by being terrible and his completion percentage would be last in the country if not for them.sarktastic said:

Noc what goes completion percentage was. That is an aggregate number that doesn't tell you what actually happened. Let me guess - you think Fresno state and ucf are better than Georgia because they had more wins right? -
If you were an NFL caliber receiver, would you have wanted to play for a team with Browning as the QB?

Another cool story, bro. But, let’s get back to football shall we?Mad_Son said:

NFL drafts talent. Speed, size, athleticism. If we had NFL talent on this roster, why is it hidden from the experts? Why do the see it on Oregon States roster, for instance but can’t find it here?
Browning, simply, is the most successful QB in any 4 year span of Washington football, based on Wins. Could he have been better if he had a single NFL caliber WR to throw to this year? -
Weird take, following a string of many weird takes from you this last week. Anyways, most of us were saying Browning sucked when it looked more like Ross was catching pop ups like a center fielder instead of catching go routes in stride. It’s not the receivers. HTH.

Would you rather play for ASU? Oregon? Oregon State?uzi said:If you were an NFL caliber receiver, would you have wanted to play for a team with Browning as the QB?
Recruit Better. Why the excuses for Petersen’s failure? -
Do you not understand the long-standing g theory of abundance?sarktastic said:

In this case, it’s actually a lack of abundance because Browning sucks and our? WR recruiting failed for a couple years under Pease and is underachieving again under Lubick.
If Browning didn’t suck, the WRs would look better.
If the WRs didn’t suck, Browning would be better.
Both things can be true at the same time. -
NFL talent is the key. We didn’t have it at WR. Recruiting failures manifest themselves over time, especially at skill positions.
-
I’ll simplify the concept waaaaay down just for you.GreenRiverGatorz said:Weird take, following a string of many weird takes from you this last week. Name all (any) of the WRs who will be drafted from the Washington roster in the 2019 draft.
-
I saw a mock draft that had Ian Biddle going #32 to the Patriots.
-
We didn't have nfl talent at quarterback either. Everyone has known our wide receivers have not been good enough as a unit because recruiting sucked. Whether Jake browning or drew brees was quarterback we already knew we had a problem here years ago. The difference is brees actually makes good throws consistently and doesn't shit himself under pressure. Also browning is 25th in completion percentage but 23rd in ints thrown and 63rd in tds.sarktastic said:NFL talent is the key. We didn’t have it at WR. Your pro-Browning agenda is stupid. He was not good for us. I wish he had been but he simply wasn't. -
This is such a silly, pointless thread.sarktastic said:

Moon beat USC in the rain and #5 Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Hobert beat Nebraska in Lincoln and Michigan in the Rose Bowl for the NC. Tui beat Miami and then Drew Brees in the Rose Bowl to go 11-1.
Browning beat Stanford in 2016. And that was his only signature win in four seasons. Lost the Peach Bowl. Lost the Fiesta Bowl. Lost the Rose Bowl. UW was underwhelming in all three of those big stage opportunities.
Maybe some Husky receivers would be better developed if Browning wasn't such a shitty QB? -
You all say Jake Browning sucked. I say Jake Browning overachieved.
-
Tedford left the rest is history.
-
That being said, Jake Browning still sucked.PineapplePirate said:You all say Jake Browning sucked. I say Jake Browning overachieved.
