This would be a nice way to salvage TE recruiting. But we have Paopao, so we have no chance.

Or the school wasn't sure.NEsnake12 said:
The only reason a kid would wait until February to sign is if they aren't sure.Domicillo said:
Says UW offer was big for him, not sure if he’s going to visit. Also mentions a lot of pro UCLA stuff as expected, but says he will be signing in February now.

You never want to wait until February unless you are either a) told to wait until February or b) told there isn't room for you anymore and are trying to save face.HillsboroDuck said:Back on the bored

UCLA offering Patterson and Martinez not signing is interesting. They’re actually really a toss up despite two very similar bodies but complete opposite skill sets. I’d be interested to see which mold Pete prefers because we offered Martinez first and he’s obviously the better receiver but Patterson has a better frame to be a beautiful WTE. The fact they told him to take his time is concerning and I wonder if they knew they could get back in on Martinez. If Paopao pulled him I’d forgive him until I see Jude Wolfe ANNNNNNNDDDDDD Ethan Rae are going to USC.

They absolutely had to know another TE was still on the table. Rumor was that Martinez was interested in visiting UW after getting offered but Chip said he'd lose his spot on UCLA's roster if he took the trip, which sounds consistent with what has been mentioned about other UCLA commits.LaMichael_Corleone said:UCLA offering Patterson and Martinez not signing is interesting. Agreed that these guys have similar value but different skill sets. I do think Martinez has the capacity to be a great blocker though, Mater Dei wanted him to consider moving to tackle because they thought he'd be elite at the next level as a tackle with his footwork and frame. But you wanna talk about building relationships and setting up pipelines, then no doubt you take Martinez and get your foot in the door with Mater Dei. That's were I'm at with that decision. -
