Worst team to make playoff?

Following another horrifically boring CFB season and an even more boring set of final 4 teams, I woke up from a drunken stupor and asked myself (not my imaginary friend), "Who is the worst team to make the 4-team playoff so far?"

I think it's between Florida State in 2014 and Washington in, what year was it, 2016?

Agree?

Actually, this is a good call. I forgot about that shitshow of a "game" vs Alabama.

Still remember Herbstreit's quote as Alabama pounded another touchdown into MSU ass: "that's A LOT of girth penetrating the end zone". The girl I was dating at the time was from MSU and commented later that night after we had special relations: "speaking of a lot of girth penetrating the end zone...." True story, bros.

OT but Rich Brooks' Fighting Ducks of 1994 often get over looked in the worst Pac 10/12 champion debate

    Lost to two WAC teams

Yes, but UCLA the year before was 8-4 and ranked 18th, and let us not forget Stanford in 1999. Coached by Tyrone (enough said) went into the Rose Bowl game unranked and lost to Wisconsin. How is that even possible? That has to be the biggest dreck Rose Bowl match up of all-time.

    UW was 7-4 in 1977

Stanford usually wins the argument for 1999

UW had to lose to a shitty UCLA team to make it happen. That was the year Tui went 300/200 on Ty and Kent Baer

Edit to say that UW would have been 8-4 if they beat UCLA to get in

The 1994 Oregon team was actually ranked 11th at the time.

But Oregon always loses to Utah who was WAC then along with Hawaii. Were those the only losses. I remember because I was so fucking confident we would win I didn't bother watching until the 4th quarter. Saw the Pick.

The p10 was actually pretty good at the time. Going 7-1 in that league, including wins over top 10 USC, UAzz, and, of course THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON (DAMMIT!!), was an accomplishment.

It was a horrific start but that UO team was definitely not the worst p10 champ.

Oregon actually moved UP one spot in AP after the Rose Bowl. Anyone who watched the game came away impressed if they hadn't seen Oregon play.

Does Danny Oneils RB passing record still stand? I'm thinking it was recently broken, maybe Darnold over PSU?

Had Oregon not missed three field goals, Penn St. might have had some added pressure.

UW always loses to Oregon. Even when we get boatraced by WSU, we can always count on UW to pad the W-L record. Thanks, seriously. We appreciate it. A lot.

    All in fun though! crazyhystericallaughter.gif

Florida St. wasn't very good, but they had something like a 25 game win streak heading into the Rose Bowl.
