I like Smith. I used to have some connections to the University of Montana football program, and everyone raved about Smith when he was OC there.

Doogs are pissed that Petersen " let the bowl winning coach get away". "Not a great start" is what I'm hearing.

I think I may be in the minority, but I think Smith is going to do a great job. He's been a QB coach for 10 years, been a successful OC at the FCS level and was one of those guys that had success as a player without being over-talented. Those guys usually are pretty football savvy and that works well as a coach.
Petersen has had success identifying young OC's (Pease, Hasin) and given them their big break and its worked out for him.
Or he might suck. -
