Gotta feel confident when your boss says he isn't sure if he's going to fire you.GrundleStiltzkin said: -
That would be a great hire for Colorado. They no longer have the cachet to attract a big name so they need to roll the dice. Tosh is a gamble with a potentially huge payoff. At the very least he will bring excitement to the program.insinceredawg said:Not sure where they're getting this from but on Dawgman a couple posters are saying Tosh is a top candidate for the job. That could have some big implications on recruiting in the coming years if true.

Tosh wouldn’t be the first great recruiter to be a horrible head coach. I don’t think he has it in him. I could be wrong.

he won't have time to be the ace recruiter and head coachRoadDawg55 said:Tosh wouldn’t be the first great recruiter to be a horrible head coach. I don’t think he has it in him. I could be wrong.
why not both? would fail. -
Any category of potential hires has its share of failures. Most head coaches fail.RoadDawg55 said:Tosh wouldn’t be the first great recruiter to be a horrible head coach. I don’t think he has it in him. I could be wrong.
Doesn't mean that being an elite recruiter isn't a huge advantage for a head coach. James Franklin is the first that comes to mind as a successful head coach who was first known as a recruiting specialist.
There aren't many coaches who can sell like Tosh. I would give him the shot if I were the Colorado AD. They aren't gettign any of the most coveted coordinators or head coaches of non-power 5 schools so they are better off gambling on someone unproven. -
There's Starbucks in Colorado, right?FremontTroll said:

Fuck, having Tosh in the conference would not be good. We have hard time keeping him off our croots

Tosh at Cal would be more of a nightmare imo. His time with Saban and Colorados traditional recruiting grounds being more southern we wouldn't bump heads as much.
Plus Tosh being a Cal alumnus he could combat negative recruiting by calling it his dream job. CU would be looking over their shoulder after 3 years if he pans out. -
It would be terrible if Colorado hired Leavitt, and Oregon had to bring in Tosh at 1.8 million...
