Ever since Budda, King, and Victor left (well 2016 because Victor hardly played last year) the team has not had a leader on defense. A straight loud alpha male who's only goal is to fuck shit up and bring the killer instinct to the defense.
We have a bunch of "nice" players on defense. Play pretty well but just doesn't have that excitement factor. -

-Kudos to Pete/Lake for yanking Miller after he got burned by a freshman. Taylor looked pretty good as s replacement
-I really hope McKinney ends up being better than Jojo
-not redshirting Taylor, McKinney, BBK, and Molden was FS. I fear Tuli will finish out the year playing paltry minutes in 5+ games and we will be saying the same of him in a couple years.

Bryant is the only corner guy that plays hard even though he is tiny, dude has stepped up and gets involved even in the interior. Had a great play and then got up and talked a bunch of shit to Colorado QB. might play his way into actually getting drafted as a slot cover specialist
BBK is big bad kock, forced a fumble jojo fucked up, had a couple good hits, threw a guy to the ground and then showed some emotion and talked some shit, Game sealing INT and then trucked the shit out of some Colorado player.
Other LBs, meh, this unit would be scary bad without BBK, like single handedly lose you games bad.
DL Levi played really well pancaked the shit out of a few OL, bowmen would have easily had 3-4 sacks if he could fucking finish after his surprisingly good pass rush moves. Gains quietly did his job. Potato is so worthless the coaches are now dropping him into coverage just so he doesn’t get in the way of others pass rushing even though he is just as useless in coverage.
The defense is fine, not badass, not up to its potential in a spot or two, but fine... they aren’t good enough enough to play like emotionless robots. Someone needs to slip some bath salts into the Gatorade before each game.
Let me say it again, BBK and Bryant are the heart, soul, and leaders of the defense. Lol
Benning and JoJo get maybe 1/10th the criticism BBK does even tho BBK makes more impactful plays in a single game than either will this entire season.
I used to like JoJo too, but he fucks up a turnover practically every game. He can hit. He does nothing else.
