All the changes that took place at the end of last season were prompted by Paul Allen. He talked to Pete Carroll and said in effect "things seem to trending in a bad direction, we might want to shake things up a bit. But you and John are the football guys so I'll leave the details up to you."

That sounds like Allen. He was very invested in his franchises but trusted his football/basketball guys to a fault.
That can be great if you hire smart people and awfully if you hire dumb people. But Allen was at least smart enough to recognize that he wasn't the best guy to make those decisions. -
Allen was an incredible owner. Hands off, unlimited resources, local. We? were lucky to have him.
