He's clearly got far superior QB coaching and play calling. -
He looks good, but so did Kaepernick and Prescott.
The NFL always catches up to tendencies and only the truly elite stay ahead of the curve.
Not saying he doesn't have a chance, but the honeymoon will be over eventually and then we'll see if he is top tier or not. -

His style is quite a bit different from Kaepernick, though. He's not a read-option QB.

If the NFL season were 4 weeks long the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl every year. Alex Smith looked fantastic for them in the first parts of the season too.
He has Andy Reid as a coach. Chiefs will startin shitting their pants around week 11-12, limp into the playoffs, and lose to someone like the Titans in the first one. Andy ReidFuckingStupid script, cook it. -
Reid was also in Philly the first time Foles was there and had a great year
