What is your favorite album of all time (can be any genre) ??

For me, it will always be the Stone's Exile on Main Street . This was fast strategy Keith at his all time peak and is the finest synthesis of rock, blues, soul, gospel and country that any group ever committed to wax. Furthermore, it's one of the few double LPs ever recorded that doesn't really have a weak track or two.

It's a triple album "best of" set, but in terms of cohesive greatest hits album it's second to none. Also, Neil, having the deepest archive vault in the history of rock was able to put some great unreleased material on this album.RaceBannon said: -
I can't do it.
Electric Ladyland
Hwy 61 Revisited
Dirt
Sleeps With Angels
Rust Never Sleeps
On the Beach
Zuma
Ragged Glory
After the Gold Rush
Freedom
The Stones compilation that I made myself.
I'd think of at least half a dozen others under pressure, choke, fail to choose one, and end up stuck singing to myself on my island. -
Be a man, damn it, and pick one. Of your above list the answer is easy...chuck said:I can't do it.

Only because I think listening to Sanitarium for 40 years alone would make me kill myself, I have to go with Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison.

I don't know. Some filler between track 3 and whatever # Tom Thumb's blues is. I even skip the title track at times.YellowSnow said:

Leaning toward this at the moment...

That picture @swaye is from the San Quentin album, but that's ok...Swaye said:Only because I think listening to Sanitarium for 40 years alone would make me kill myself, I have to go with Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison.
So, I'm wondering if this is a Freudian slip?
"Early one morning while making the rounds, I took this shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down".

I would skip over Jump and I'll Wait and just listen to the guitar songs -
To Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar
or maybe
Nah that's the one -

I'm not sure I'd go with VH as the only album - but if I did, 1984 would be third (maybe fourth) on the list. Fair Warning gives me a flashback boner to 1981.
Lord, strike that poor boy down....
-
BT's Movement in Still Life
I don't think anyone on this bored listens to trance though, maybe @Sundevil76 ? -
Because I'm a hipster I'll go with Lonesome Crowded West
-
A compilation album may be cheating but I'd rather be as happy as possible on my island.

I took a lot of shit in the rock BOTBs for taking Van Halen far. My desert Isle VH record would probably be VHII.PurpleThrobber said:El_K said:

I don’t think I can pick from the heart, so I’ll go with the one I’ve listened to most. A couple songs I’ll skip, the rest is transcendent.

Not a fan, but chinned for picking something completely original here.Gladstone said:BT's Movement in Still Life

Alice in chains unplugged.
If greatest hits or compilation albums are allowed then it's AIC music bank. -

I wore out my cassette of this in high school. Soul Kitchen is still my favorite organ riff of all tim.Baseman said: -
So there's a better record than her first? I am still in the early stages of learning Neko. Honky Tonk Hiccups has been played over and over in my house this summer.GrundleStiltzkin said:I don’t think I can pick from the heart, so I’ll go with the one I’ve listened to most. Fleetwood Mac Rumors or Kid Rock Cocky or The Outlaws/Outlaws 8 track
-
Oh yes. First album is good fun, but definitely gets better. Fox Confessor may not be my true favorite Neko album, I just picked which I've listened to most.YellowSnow said:

Furnace Room Lullaby has some absolutely beautiful songs. If you like The Virginian, you'll probably like Furnace Room better. Keeps to the roots country feel, but goes more noir and just better songs.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULqtganlDGE

Rumors was probably the best "pop" record of all time. It's just so damn catchy and not in a sucky way.Ice_Holmvik said:Fleetwood Mac Rumors or Kid Rock Cocky or The Outlaws/Outlaws 8 track

I think it was by far their best overall music. At the time they were all cheating on each other with each other and a lot of it had to be recorded seperately. But the raw emotions and feelings come out in the music.YellowSnow said:

Great pick. I've got several vinyl pressings of this. Better than American Beauty imho.LebamDawg said:just so many to chose from … tonight it might be this
