If our games were played and Hong Kong or Beijing we would be at full capacity.

Write-in OptionI haven't been to games since the season before @Owen12, but I would venture to guess that it's a combination of things, some of which you mentioned above.
Crowd doesn't know how to be a crowd. I do blame mobile devices to an extent.
The AD doesn't know how to create and sustain an atmosphere.
Some of the blame is on Petersen's offense. They need to start fast and put their cleats on the other teams balls and stomp them into the ground. Do what works until the other team stops it. Getting inopportune three-and-outs will frustrate the fans and they'll tune out. Keep them engaged.

Goods points Bazey. At this point, it seems like we can only get it up any more for Oregon, top 10 Stanford and the Kewg. It felt like we had no home field advantage with ASU, although I think ASU's game plan played a role in deflating what little energy the crowd had to being with.PurpleBaze said:I haven't been to games since the season before @Owen12, but I would venture to guess that it's a combination of things, some of which you mentioned above.

Husky Stadium was technically sold out on Sat (Band Day though) and that's the quietest I've ever heard for 71,000 fans. -
Write-in OptionWatching from home is a better experience now. Stadiums suck. 60"+ HD TVs are the main difference from last time we were good.
-
Write-in OptionI'm guessing the gameday experience is very sterilized & they run a lot of annoying promos, but that's no excuse.
I went to the Fiesta Bowl and thought the stadium atmosphere sucked. However, the Pedo State fans knew how to be loud. They were engaged. I know they are a bunch of backwater inbreds, but still.

Also dose not help most of the top 10 schools are in college towns, while UW is in a big fucking city that has other shit going on for it than Football. Also uw and Seattle is full of fags, and not the cool type a fags

Write-in OptionI would say the biggest problem, to channel DDY, is our marketing.
We do shit like move the student section out of relevance.
We do shit like fucking over long term tailgate fans who have invested in helping create a game day atmosphere.
We do shit like fucking over long term season ticket holders.
In summary, our AD and marketing is too focused on "growth of new fans" who won't be that invested unless we are winning instead of supporting and listening to an already rabid and long established core fan base.
-
Husky Football Circa 2002- 15I'd probably change my vote to moving the student section. They can't see what is going on for at least half of the game, and they are what directs the rest of the stadium to cheer. Also, the Go Huskies chant sucks now because it's starting from an end zone.
Even before the interception, a UW-Arizona game from 2009 is way louder than any game outside of a handful since the renovation.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NFsMTPvSjQ

Write-in OptionWe seem to have people in marketing whose experience either 1) must not exist or 2) have no sports experience or 3) are trying to copy the NFL model for college.
I'm waiting for the chinevitable "If we start games at 7am pacific that will be 10am Eastern and will improve our ratings" to come from PAC12 headquarters and for our AD to meekly acquiesce. -

TLDR we are sacrificing long term growth and "customer" loyalty for short term gains in revenue. This ALWAYS works out for firms that engage in it...UW_Doog_Bot said:I would say the biggest problem, to channel DDY, is our marketing.

Too much cash grab sponsor gimmickry and horrible music- e.g., "Purple Rain"The correct answer is abundance. That being said, it feels like a corporate stadium now. The in-stadium experience is pretty much that of an NFL game.

We need to send a crack team of expurts to places like Wisconsin, tOSU, Georgia, etc and observe what their game day experience is like. I feel that perhaps Seattle has changed too much since the early 90's for our? ever to truly get Husky Stadium back to 1990's form. But to your points, better marketing + mor winning can help.UW_Doog_Bot said:I would say the biggest problem, to channel DDY, is our marketing.

But it really is all of it. Night games, Crazy Larry, shit product for 15 years, Seachickens getting good, old logger Seattle > new hipster faggy Seattle, traffic, parking/tailgating challenges, the changing demographic of the student body (I swear only half the kids grew up in WA and even those are mostly the super smart nerds of their schools), and 70" HD TV's. Everything all culminated over the last 20 years to make much of this not worth fooling with.YellowSnow said:

Write-in OptionIt's a good question, I really don't know. Most of these choices are related to butts in seats, in my opinion, and that wasn't the issue Sat night. People were there, they just weren't into it. Even if all of these things contributed, once you get to your seats, do you really need that much prompting or inspiration prior to arrival? You're boys are down there and they need your help. You've always been there for them before, what's your fucking problem now? We're? in the top 10 for fuck sake. I agree that the go dawgs chant is completely fucked now that it's in the end zone.
Purple Rain was gay but people did respond to it. The only thing that makes some sense to me would be just the pussy Seattle crowd. This #MeToo bullshit has everyone trying to out-behave everyone else, being rowdy and obnoxious is in poor taste. What if the opposing jersey in front of me is offended by my screaming? Idk it's frustrating -

plus I moved and it is a minimum of 2 hours each way to the game. So night games are the shits for living in the country - wife left alone with the neighbor boys isn't my cup of tea... -
Husky Football Circa 2002- 15I think Seattle culture has a lot to do with it. I was just there for my first extended stay in awhile and people rock Seahawks shit nonstop. Literally dress up as 12s like it's gameday when it's not.
Seattle has the most raucous soccer environment.
Seattle's rugby team is pulling the biggest most active crowds in the shitty American league.
I went to Oregon last year and the Redskins game back to back. Both were loud but if I'm honest Century link was louder.
The same people who made Husky stadium loud in the 90s are there. UW isn't cool to Seattle anymore.
Fuck I think I just changed my answer to marketing.
Just win baby! -

Wisconsin student section fills up super late (see picture and gameclock). Tailgating scene at Wisconsin is awesome despite having a less conducive set of giant parking lots available. The in game experience blows husky stadium out of the water. People are a lot more engaged in non game activities though. When husky stadium used to be focused on the game and into it first down would be louder than Wisconsin on third down. No flashing shit though, good band, just an overall college game atmosphere.YellowSnow said:
