Yeah I’m not a fan of this even if there seems to be a reasonable argument. @dnc can criticize it but I don’t want to hear shit from Trump voters.

@dnc adheres to the same sunny brand of compassionate reform conservatism as me. There are many conservative leaning non Trump voters amongst our ranks.
You me and Grundle are all that I'm aware of. Sort of Boobs.
@UW_Doog_Bot is 2 silver dollar, compassionate libertarian, non Trump supporter.

@creepycoug and @CirrhosisDawg are open borders / free flow of labor to capital, fuck dumb natives, conservatives.
Free trade. Free markets. Free people.

Trump’s populist-nationalist-nativist brand of protectionism (build a wall! Impose tariffs!) is the guiding principle behind failure, incompetence, ineptitude and ignorance.

I’m for secure borders (wall in some areas, border patrol in others) and I’m for short term tariffs as a means to bring the other countries to the negotiating table. After negotiations I expect free trade. Our? career politicians have made so many poor decisions that we? need someone like Trump to reset international economic expectations.

I’m a disillusioned Republican that leans Libertarian. I’m for term limits of 12 years, per House, so a candidate could serve no more than 24 years in public service (plus presidency) and would be forced to make a living in the economy they helped create. I’d like to see their medical and retirement benefits get changed to match those that are provided to the military.

Ah, so establishment polticians doing closed conference calls and private fundraising dinners with their donors is fine but keeping press out of a town hall with constituents is suddenly a threat to the 1st amendment.

    It was a public event.
Ok then fundraisers and conference calls with wealthy donors should be public or provide transcripts to reporters.

Or it’s fine if she wants to hold a private event with constituents who don’t even have to pony up for her access.
It was billed as a townhall event, not a private event. The reasons she gave for excluding the press were complete horseshit.
There was an illegal immigrant from our state that was targeted by ICE and deported just because he spoke to the press if I recall
Cry about it somewhere else you open borders piece of shit. You're here illegally, you don't have a same rights as a citizen. Deport illegals.

    Illegal immigrants aren't constituents
Ah so people who live and work in her district, many of them for decades, and who are directly impacted by her proposed policies are not her constituents and should not be allowed access to her.

Maybe we should only allow uber wealthy immigrants to provide input into our politics. Rupert Murdoch perhaps. He’s been such a positive influence on our political system in his time here.
I didn't say they shouldn't have access to her.

You're the one who brought up how she should be able to meet with her constituents in this thread. Multiple times. I agree.

Then you brought up how the presence of the press can be a threat to illegal immigrants. Which may well be true.

But by definition illegal immigrants are not her constituents, unless you're arguing that they vote anyway, which would be a very off brand argument for you.
I believe her constituents are everyone who lives in her district whether they vote or not, and everyone whether they’re legal immigrants or not. They are impacted by politics regardless and should be able to talk to the politicians that make policy decisions.

And if the politican wants to provide a setting that makes those people feel more comfortable voicing their concerns then that is also fine.
I didn't vote for Trump. I'm anti wall and anti separating families. I'm pretty fucking middle on immigration. Buttfuck man you don't get to just blatantly change the meaning of constituent.
No, you're left wing on immigration, unless by anti 'separating families' you support the immediate deportation of said 'families' together on arrival.

If it was about Trump you’d find a way to blame Obama or Hillary.

Yes. Trump is literally Obama and Hillary's fault. How are you not understanding this?

He doesn't stand on his own merit at all. It's a direct reflection of Obama and Hillary's failure.

Every single thing he does that you don't like is Hillary and Obama's fault. (and the dem party as a whole but those are the only two that actually matter)
Lies. No one is sticking it to our enemies and looking out for America's interests better than the Donald.

It's protection for the mediocre. This country's greatness is built on the basis of COMPETITION!

You don't want an economy built off protecting 85% of the jack asses I used to run around with. Good guys, most of them (there are some bad f'in seeds among them too), but not our best and brightest ... or even most hardworking.

Republican Neo Populism = Ronald Reagan turning over in his grave.

    Sad. Sad, really.
