I’m a disillusioned Republican that leans Libertarian. Republican Neo Populism = Ronald Reagan turning over in his grave.
Sad. Sad, really. -
The "closest" thing you can label me as is a Classical Liberal or something like a 70's Republican back when they "cared" about the environment but before the Dixiecrats invaded. I'm not a huge Trump supporter but root for him to succeed as far as I agree with his policies and goals and did the same with Obama and Dubya before him. I'm very used to sitting on the outside looking in and not being very pleased since the defining moment of my generation is 9/11 and watching the government grow at an exponential clip while getting little done other than creating a surveillance state that apparently still doesn't keep us safe but has successfully eroded our rights. Also, no one listens to Economists, even the ones who might be from their "side", so there's that. Sorry, don't really care if Trump said the N-word in private. Didn't care that slick Willy got his D sucked until he used the office of the President to hide it(and even then fuck it all). Mostly, I think that all people in Politics are reprehensible unless they are a true believer, in which case they are probably willing to put all the non-believers into an gas chamber which isn't great either.
TLDR I mostly end up in the Tug when I'm boared bc there's no hot teenboi action, no football happening, or because I get tired of hearing socialist pablum and feel compelled to fight for free markets and free people. I don't really ever expect to change anyone's mind on a political topic in a forum.
