I'm hearing that Peterman sent Clay a messageBaseman said:Kaho will enroll at Alabama no later than Tuesday (Aug 14). USC, baring a last minute change, has apparently decided to pass and move on.

GFTM Affiliate Reporter Flair Blangulo has posted a an update on the Hopate coffee cup situation late last night.
"I'm told by a reliable source that there is "a 90 percent chance" that Alabama is the next destination for former five-star Brandon "Ale" Kaho, the nation's top-rated inside linebacker in the 2018 class per the 247Sports rankings (A GaryFromTeenMom corporation).
Things are moving fast after Kaho was given his full release by Washington on Monday. The thought is that Kaho intends to finalize his decision in the next 24-48 hours, move on to what's next and get back into school/football rhythm.
BYU, UNR, Oregon and USC are also in the mix but right now the Crimson Tide appear to be in great shape to land a player they had high on their board in the previous cycle."
A little tidbit not reported on the 247 board that I can share here....it is true that Tosh Lupoi has promised Hopate an underground light rail speed system that will transport Hopate and his family (lol j/k, he doesn't have one anymore) from his home in Reno to Bryant Denny Stadium in just 42 minutes. Tosh has told Hopate this is scheduled to be ready in time for the 2018 season. Hopate simply won't fly. He just won't do it so this is what they had to get done for them to be happy with Bama being the next destination for their cash cow. -
Dude, I rarely get into the improper benefits shit, but this is fucking crazy. It's so obvious even a drunk like me can see it.
-
Agreed, at least in the Marlon and Togai situations there was some kind of deniability but this is just out in the world blatant. It makes me that much angrier at how Don James was taken down to watch this happen and watch the collective shrug from the media, the ncaa, and everyone else.Swaye said:Dude, I rarely get into the improper benefits shit, but this is fucking crazy. We are going to hear that his dad got a job in Alabama and it just made way more sense for the family for him to be close.
-
It's official. It's hard to get too excited for verbals knowing they can change their minds, but once they sign NLI, it's never been a worry. Now it's going to be hard to get too excited until they enroll. This is a joke.

Softy's reaction is dumbfounding:
I mean, how more naive and credulous could the local media possibly be? -
I just can't imagine Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, or Dabo Swinney letting themselves getting taken advantage of like this.
-
I blame @dnc for making this topic.

Yeah blue chips always make it to the NFL... -

Someone please tweet this shit at Jude.Squirt said:Softy's reaction is dumbfounding:

Dennis nails it:
It was a mistake for Pete to grant the release. -

UW was screwed whichever decision they made on Kaho. Grant the release and he gets to go anywhere, deny the release and other schools use it to negatively recruit us to deathSquirt said:Dennis nails it:

I think I’m going to be sick.

What a little fucking, no character having turd. I will ALWAYS bash the kids in circumstances such as this.
-
Jood:
His article is a joke. He obviously talked to Kaho's dad again but didn't ask any obvious questions about how going to Alabama is consistent with the family's claims about Kaho's wellbeing. -
I'm not worried yet, he can always transfer here next year and redshirt in 2020 then play for us in 2021.
-
I'm guessing Pete's philosophy is it's better to cut bait with the cancer and move on than have it leach off you negatively, but still this is pretty ridiculous.
The media is partially to blame for taking his dad's comments at face value without following up. Did anyone call Tracy Ford and ask about his conditioning while he was here? Did he really lose 20 pounds out of depression?
It painted the picture that he was homesick and grief stricken and needed to delay enrollment because football was the furthest thing from his mind. Pete is the bad guy if he doesn't let him go under those circumstances.
Was the dad really calling UW parents for money because of the divorce? It doesn't pass the smell test at all. He would have been better off saying he made a mistake signing the NLI and doesn't know what he wants to do and take a year off before enrolling.

This is a lot of words to say Dad got paid.Doogles said:I'm guessing Pete's philosophy is it's better to cut bait with the cancer and move on than have it leach off you negatively, but still this is pretty ridiculous.

dealing with the pnw media has to be so fucking easy for an athlete. shit, ty got the times to run the 'victory and ruins' special.
if jude had any balls, and i know you read this website adam, he'd at least call the kid out for playing the 'closer to home' bullshit rather than the passive aggressive paragraph on tosh in that piece. -
I’d like to give Jude a swirly in a radioactive contaiminated toilet at Hanford.

People forget Jood is a duck. People forget that.

Couple of points:
1) Really doesn't matter if he got paid or not. Some schools are going to do it but Petersen never will. Expecting other schools to recruit like a boy scout is wasted effort.
2) Doesn't sound like the kid completed the class. Expecting UW/UCLA to lessen academic requirements is also wasted effort.
Plus what kind of a dumbass kid can't pass an English class.
3) Can't blame the kid for wanting to please a parent. Might work for us with Bandes and his mother.
4) Petersen absolutely did the right thing. I agree with Dawg206 when he said denying the release would have got us shredded with negative recruiting. Petersen being phony, etc. If anything it solidifies his reputation as in it for doing the right thing for kids. Short term hit, long term benefit. -
Fuck him. He couldn't train because he hadn't completed HS yet. Kid might be bad-ass, but he and his family are a fucking train wreck.dawgs206 said:
