HuskyFanPodcast: Post Press Conference

Disagree.

Was the press conference really an event significant enough for its own podcast?

By itself, maybe not, but it was another chance to make fun of Kim, talk about guys such as Lambright and Softy who didn't say shit when Sark was here, but now bash him, and doog it up a little more over Petersen.CollegeDoog said:Was the press conference really an event significant enough for its own podcast?

I think it was warranted. I think Race layed out a case to the fact it looks like UW hired a coach that resembles a real football coach....something special may have taken place today minus the bare chested boys and bizarre questions.
If in fact Peterson does what he says he can do then this will go down as the best podcast ever. -
Disagree. The one bashing on Doogman back in August put you guys on the map and was your best one.jecornel said:I think it was warranted. The great thing about bashing on Doogman is they never get old and always stay relevant.
Why the old HHB podcasts from like 2008-2009 were so relevant because first of all Sarkingham era was pretty much the same and Doogman was still a nazi ran site. -
Price never played vs byu. Last time we played them we were delighted to Chris Polk's 13 carries for 92 yards when Sark decided he would rather put the game on Jack Lockner's back and we lost 23-17.
I was at that game and screaming for them to run the ball.

Wanted to make sure people were listening:) ^

I attended that brutal game. I couldn't understand what Sark was doing, nor really have I ever.

Poor Lambright...... opening his mouth again in public with the truth when the subject and timing was either inconvenient or inappropriate. I still remember driving home from work listening to the radio when in response to something the KJR shock-jocks asked about USC, Lambo blurted out: "You mean that school in the ghetto?" The guy was just never suave about his PR after he became Husky head coach, a job he probably never really wanted except for the coaching part.
While we welcome the first real head football coach I believe we've had in 20 years, it will be good for all of us to remember that coaches with Petersen's methods and abilities, especially as far too often pertains to their relations with local media, will be subjected to mostly unwarranted criticisms or inconsequential negatives in the local media as soon as success arrives in abundance on the field of play. If we've learned anything over the past 10 years, it's that good coaching of Husky Football is not a priority for those non-fans who must have access to report on it.
I would never want to wish him trouble or discomfort in his working conditions at Montlake, but if Petersen gets as much of the kind of negative press that Don James was subjected to at the height of the Dawgfather's success at UW, then I'll know we have for the long run the coach Husky Football needs and deserves. It's sad for an old alum to look at the UW's public relations in such a negative light, but such is the reality. -
I remember when Todd Turner was hired they dug up Lambo from the grave and had him on Baird and Doogy and Lambo went on and about how Todd gets it and would be awesome. Nothing to do with Hedges firing his ass I am sure.
They did the same thing when Emmert was hired - best friend of football and all that.
Seattle really needs a nice meteor shower -
I didn't like the nervous fapping when asked about destroying the evil empire down south.
-
I'm not. Petersen doesn't like to make baseless claims like Sark does. Sark talks a big game, Petersen does not.ORRegisteredOffender said:I didn't like the nervous fapping when asked about destroying the evil empire down south.

Petersen doesn't give a shit about just beating Oregon. They are just 1 team in the way of a bunch of goals at the end of the season. I am glad he didn't say a word about beating them, it is even more reassuring he is the right guy imo.
We brought in a coach to win consistently, not a specialist at beating Oregon. -
okay I'll DIAFF. thanks for your thoughts on that. maybe he was just nervous about answering such a doogish question. I failed.
-
Petersen, unlike his new boss Woodward, obviously isn't impressed by the Oregon Way. If the stories are true, Pete could have replaced Bellotti at UO, but didn't care to work for Phil Knight. He chose many years ago to beat ducks rather than be one.CuntWaffle said:Petersen doesn't give a shit about just beating Oregon. Over deliver. -
Good podcast but you guys killed my sport boner with all this Lambright talk.
Guy was a fucking average bum and despite him being tough I saw his teams roll over and quit several times. -
Mostly agree. He was a pretty bad coach, and I was glad to see him fired. I didn't want to completely bash him though. His words carry weight with most doogs, so it would have been nice if he didn't wait until Sark left to say anything. I'm not surprised though, this kind of stuff always happens once a coach leaves or gets fired.He_Needs_More_Time said:Good podcast but you guys killed my sport boner with all this Lambright talk.
