Trump's tax cut didn't trickle down

No one was holding a gun to anyone's head telling them to buy a house they couldn't afford. Everyone got bitten by the greed bug thinking they could unload their overvalued homes later for profit. They did what Hondo does. Buy high, sell low, then look for someone else to blame for their own dumb decisions.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:
Yeah. I loved the artificial bubble these cocksuckers created 10 years ago. Then it came crashing down and their political puppet lap dogs bailed them out.oregonblitzkrieg said:- NBC News is not a trustworthy source.
- Wall Street needs to eat too. When companies buy back shares of their own stock, that usually causes the price of the stock to rise. Money then trickles down to traders/investors who own those stocks. Traders/investors are workers too you know. -
This is the stupidest explanation of the housing bubble I have ever heard. And that’s saying something.Sledog said:No. I got stupid fucking democrat policies led to poor lending practices for social justice bullshit which caused a huge housing bubble and it's eventual collapse that everyone had to pay for.

And someone in this thread absolved Wall Street, blamed poor people and made it about race.ThomasFremont said:

Except the lowering of lending standards began during the Clinton administration. Bush gets his share of the blame for not addressing it but, the impetus of the crisis belongs to the Democrats.2001400ex said:

When you spend 8 years saying Obama needs to stop blaming Bush you lose all rights to factually look at things. It happened under Obama it’s his fault, stop blaming Bush. It happened under Bush it’s his fault, stop blaming Clinton.USMChawk said:

I understand how politics work and how decisions made during one administration carry over into the subsequent ones. Bush had the opportunity to tighten up the lending practices and didn’t. For that he gets his share of blame. But, the loosening of those regulations started under Clinton’s watch, when the Democrats controlled both Houses.allpurpleallgold said:

Actually Republicans controlled both houses from 1994 through the end of his presidency. But still.USMChawk said:

If you guys are looking for a sacrificial pig to skewer, look no further than Goldman Sachs. Painting an entire sector of the economy as 'gambling' like the socialist from New York does is FS. Goldman does shit like horde aluminum, store it in adjacent lots, then shift it back and forth between lots in order to satisfy some rule pertaining to how long it can sit in one place, in order to avoid penalty and inflate the price of aluminum. It was their guy Paulson who orchestrated the bailout too.

And the Democrats controlled both houses from 1993 to 1995, when the ‘deregulation’ began. Both parties have their share of the blame but it was the Democrats who instituted the policies to woo the lower income voter. The Republicans didn’t overturn it because they were trying to pull those same voters. That’s my biggest issue with politics today, politicians do what’s best for them or their party, not the country.2001400ex said:

Except it was Jimmy Carter and Billy Boy Clinton that put those rules in place. Carter started it Clinton expanded it. Are you always this dumb? Of course you are.2001400ex said:
