If Saban had gone ANYWHERE they would be above what they should be. He is easily the best HC since Bear Bryant.

Pitt is a tier 2 team that has dropped because interest in their program has died locally. Pitt won a Natty when I was a kid and had tons of great players, but made dumb decisions about conference affiliations and committed suicide.
PSU went undefeated in 1994 and lost their voted natty to Nebraska. Nebraska's last natty was 1997. Nebraska hasn't won their conference since 1999; they trolled the Ducks in 2001 with getting in to the BCS natty game, but no conference titles in that time. Penn State has at least 2 where they lost to USC in the Rose plus their Fiesta win last year.
If the measurement is how much people care, Penn State covered up a child rapist because football! and still fills a 100K seat stadium. Nebraska's best is better than Penn State's best over history, but with their prolonged averageness for close to 20 years now I don't think they are far apart. -

I like how USC is allegedly a top tier program that belongs alongside the likes of Bama but they haven't made the playoffs and haven't done jack shit for a decade and a half now. They are just another PAC 12 team that got lucky with a great coach, like Oregon did. If they're so fucking great and SO FUCKING BETTER than everyone else, why aren't they vying for a spot in the playoffs every year, like Bama and other similar teams? Also, comparing UW to Clemson is ludicrous. Clemson was in the playoffs for 3 straight years, beat Bama for a natty and is light years ahead of UW in coaching, recruiting and in every other department.
