What's beyond the edge of the known universe?

What contains all of it? If it is expanding, then it has to be expanding into something, but what? Is it just empty space? Can space be completely empty? What's beyond that then...A forever expanding and contracting universe. Who knows how many times we’ve lived these lives. Probably never, as we know in this universe that on a quantum level events are probabilistic. Even in a shrinking and expanding universe, it's infinitely unlikely all the same probabilities play out.
Unless quantum physics is entirely wrong, which is very possible!

I like where you're going with this. Continue.

maybe in one of those alternate lives you've actually gotten some tang

Me. Duh.

There's only one thing the Throbber is even remotely concerned about shrinking and expanding....
And it's not the universe.

The first thing to establish before proceeding is that space isn't nothing, because it allows something to exist inside it. Every real estate agent is hip to this. If you don't understand that I won't even fucking talk to you.

So you can't say the universe expands into empty space, since the space if there is any expanded into is already part of the universe.
