I'm sure those billionaires just can't wait to get their hands on your fucking welfare check

Hi there, welcome to poltics. That has been the goal of the Republican party (and some Democrats) since the New Deal.

People forget that the New Deal didn't end the depression. People forget that.

You’re right. The welfare program is the only part of our social welfare state. Not social security, or medicare, or medicaid. All the programs that billionaires love.

They love those programs so much that their errand boy Paul Ryan has made it his career to strengthen them.

And they really tried hard to improve social security by privatizing it during Bush’s 2nd term but those pesky Democrats stopped them.

Return every cent of social security and cancel the program. Americans don't need the government to save for retirement. It's a scam for the government to force each working citizen to give them an interest free loan.

Republicans should run on that. Everyone loves elder poverty.

Did you even read the first sentence? Are you fucking stupid? Rhetorical question. You've answered that for me.

Republicans should run on ending social security. It’s a great idea. Just ask Dubya.

We? create elderly poverty through reckless expansionary monetary policy. Still waiting on SS and Medicare to "solve" that little problem. You can't fix stupid and trying to reason with an idiot is silly.

Uh no it’s because the elderly retire and don’t earn wages.

While I agree with your general premise, I've gotten to the age where I've taken a few walks on the beach with my wife and gained perspective.

That perspective tells me that, without a government sponsored retirement program, in the absence of general availability of corporate pensions, society in the United States as we know it would fail. The vast majority of our population absolutely needs Social Security to retire.you think there's a homeless problem now; 98% of that is just mental illness. You take away Social Security, and that more than quadruples. Even with the idea of giving back the money, it would be a fucking disaster. They need the annuity.
